"Some observers of the Russo-Ukrainian war seem to think that its greatest danger is that Ukraine will win, or win too quickly, and that this will be uncomfortable for Putin, and that we should care. This is a deeply perverse way of seeing things." snyder.substack.com/p/the-fo…

Graduation day in Kharkiv, Ukraine
The graduates of Kharkiv School 134 still decided to take photos in front of their school that was destroyed by Russians. There are 111 schools that are completely destroyed by Russia in Ukraine. This number will grow unless Ukrainian army can stop them.

Nos dirigeants répètent en boucle que l’Histoire est redevenue tragique. Mais quand agiront-ils en conséquence? Ont-ils vraiment compris que l’avenir de l’Europe se décidait dans les ruines de Marioupol et les rues de Kyiv?

You can now read about the "Kiss of Src" at: elifesciences.org/articles/6… How Src does it to GBF1 and how it makes it leave the Golgi, taking the tubular car, Arf1 and the GALNTs with it ... PG13 for scenes of extensive phosphorylation!

Indeed! The textbook models of vesicular traffic appear less and less phased with reality.
Replying to @Fran_Bottanelli
Nice to see how ARF1 function in the formation of tubules we described back in 2017 pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2842… is regulated! but maaan this COPI results leaves me baffled...

Thanks Fran! Very kind of you. Really liked your 2017 paper too.
Interesting from @fred_bard! Src phosphorilates the GEF GBF1 which activates ARF1 for tubules formation while COPI vesicle formation is unaffected!

Beautiful modelization. Glycosylation changes with age, it is also variable between individuals. Could it explain some of the differences in severity observed among patients?
Glycosylated SARS-Cov-2 Spike Trimer. Biantennary LacNAc N-glycans (18 per protomer) are shown in dark magenta. Protein is from Swiss-Model (based on 6VSB), glycans built using glycam.org. #glycotime #COVIDー19 @SWISS_MODEL @glycam

#COVID_19 It is still possible to defeat the virus, but we need to invest heavily in testing and contact tracing. Testing lets us see the enemy and will enable viral defeat.

#COVID_19 "Herd immunity" is a Munich agreement with the virus. This "immunity" will not make the virus go away, it will be with us for years. Ask your political leaders to invest heavily in testing and contact tracing.
