The Age, ABC and The Guardian now reporting Victorian Opposition Leader Jess Wilson is in trouble in her own seat of Kew.
Wilson’s primary vote has dropped from 44% last election to 36% (losing ~3,600 votes, mainly to One Nation).
The VEC’s reported Kew 2CP count was 53.73% for Wilson to Independent
@Sophie__Torney’s 46.27%.
Torney was subsequently elected local Mayor, and is recontesting the seat of Kew.
Torney needs to swing 1,627 voters away from Liberal Wilson’s voting base to win. With 3,600 votes already gone to One Nation, expected preference flows have the seat on a knife-edge.
Bombshell polling for Kew in The Age!
Jess Wilson has crashed from 44% to 36% in her own seat!😲
That’s more than Peter Dutton’s drop: carnage for an Opp Leader.
If this is the high-water mark, Wilson is in serious trouble and Sophie Torney will make Kew Vic’s first teal seat.
