I’m sorry, but this “a few bad apples” line might have been enough 7 months ago but not today.
Now, many of those organizing and leading these protests have shown themselves to stand by this toxicity and intimidation time and again.

The right to protest is a cornerstone of our democracy.
For the past seven months, hundreds of thousands of Canadians have been peacefully calling for an end to the ongoing death, destruction, and decimation of an entire population in Gaza.
This past weekend, however, a few individual protesters engaged in problematic speech; this is unacceptable and contrary to our shared values.
What is also concerning are deliberate efforts to smear all protesters with one brush, suggesting that anyone calling on Canada to uphold and protect international humanitarian law is aligned with terrorism. This is a patently false and harmful insinuation.
Let's be consistent in standing up for everyone's human rights and avoid double standards which can detract from the deliberate and devastating killing, maiming, starvation, displacement, and orphaning of Palestinians that Canadians of all backgrounds are protesting against.
My heart goes out to every Canadian who has been personally impacted by this endless horror.

🚚225 trucks carrying humanitarian aid were inspected and transferred to Gaza today.
🚚134 trucks carried food. The rest carried water, medical supplies, and shelter equipment.
There is no limit to the amount of aid that can enter Gaza.

I just had to explain to my 7 & 10 year old children why Nazi German symbols are being displayed beside a flag of a country they love in front of the Parliament of a country they’re proud to live in.
Because it’s 2023.
The pro-Palestinian movement has some explaining to do.
