I went looking to see how many times this has happened to LastPass and this is a case where the table of contents is the only part of the page you need to read en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LastPa…

At this point I'd be really happy to go back to memorising people's phone numbers and looking for payphones when someone doesn't turn up where we agreed.

Sorry we’re late, we had to pick up Æthelred on the way, and well… you know what he’s like.

Hey kids, this'll weird you out: in the olden days when the telephone rang we used to pick it up and the first thing we'd do is say *our own telephone number* out loud.

Feels like the value of Twitter’s network is overestimated. If you’ve been here 10 years, I bet most of your followers are inactive. It’s hard to get tweets seen because of the timeline algorithm. Mastodon may be at the point it delivers the same value, at least in my circles.

Experimented with reach on Twitter vs Mastodon by sending the same “canary” post on both platforms. I saw about the same engagement on both, despite having 4% the followers there.

Had a dream that the new Twitter fad was to post a picture of a giant isopod photoshopped into historical events and going "Eugene! Not again!!"

The dangers of occasionally working from a coworking space when I’m used to working at home: suddenly realising I’m sat cross-legged on my chair, hunched over my laptop like a little goblin, in the middle of lots of Professional people in an open plan office 😅

Elf on the shelf is awful and I hate it and you’ll never find it in our house. I will not be taking any further questions at this time.
*taps mic* Why are we acting like “Elf on the shelf” is something we all grew up with? This thing came out of nowhere and we’re all pretending it’s some classic tradition.

Once you've heard my version of this Christmas classic you will ALWAYS sing it this way (and it's only 27 seconds long). vimeo.com/492089297

Look, if everyone is worried about students cheating on essays for AI, instructors can just cheat right back. I asked OpenAI to give me an essay question & make a rubric for grading. I had GPT-3 actually write the essay. I then had the OpenAI grade the essay & give comments. ✅
