Had the opportunity to watch the first-ever #FIFA World Cup match in Canada close to home - and attended as a fan - not as a journalist. It was a beautiful experience to see the beautiful game. Criticism of the temporary seating at the hybrid Toronto Stadium was unwarranted as fans were surrounded by the blue lake and iconic city skyline, and offered intimate views of the action. Though the stands were dominated by a sea of red Canadian 🇨🇦 fans, visitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦 were warmly welcomed and supported - and brought an energy that uplifted our whole city as Canada earned its first-ever World Cup point!
