This seems like a good opportunity to remind the general public that the phone you're currently reading this on is capable of playing thousands of retro games. The barrier of entry to get into *that video game series* is a short Youtube tutorial away.

Agreed. The 10 year development cycle of bleeding money all to bank on the release of a niche game costing $40-70 to hope to come out profitable isn't a sustainable process. The idea that "budget = quality = profit" has been debunked over and over again.
This is gonna sound harsh but all these layoffs need to happen not just at Xbox but at all other AAA game studios The budgets are too big, too many meaningless jobs, too much reliance on streaming services, games take too long to make, and an overall abandonment of what made gaming great in the first place which is just making fun games for players and not their peers Things are always worse before they get better so I for welcome the reset thatโ€™s happening

Tragically, Planet Fitness has the most well maintained machines because none of them see any use.

If people take time to cook, clean, garden, walk a pet, play with a kid, youโ€™re doing โ€œ10k steps.โ€ Gym goers should be doing inclines or stair steppers, pushing heartrate high if they want to burn fat. 10k steps doesnโ€™t even apply to them.

Not to make an example out of this guy specifically, he's doing his best to improve, but let this be a cautionary tale to young people to exercise early. It does not get easier with age, so prepare for your older years today.
Started lifting weights again two weeks ago. Aged 49. The result is that everyday. An entirely different part of the body. Becomes entirely unusable.

It's genuinely such a great time to be into video games.

I bought the FFVII two pack and my feed is now entirely Final Fantasy. This sale is so good that it's being treated like a revitalization of the franchise.

I've never played a Final Fantasy game for a reasonable amount of time. I've messed around on the GBA games through emulation, but I couldn't tell much about what the experience was like.

Not even joking, gaming in 2026/2027 might be the best time to like video games.... Maybe ever There has been so many very strong years like 1998, 2001, 2008, 2017 etc but what is happening right now is insane (IF you like video games)

Phil Spencer being the Xbox CEO for nearly 12 years just for some lady with no experience in gaming to show up and make shit happen overnight while Sony exits the PC game market. I'm officially an Xbox fanboy now.
