#DidYouKnow that the Apollo 11 astronauts filled out a customs form declaring lunar samples when they returned from space? (The form is authentic, but was completed more for fun than out of necessity.)
3 days later, scientists at @NASA_Johnson started work on the moon rocks. 1/3
ALT Customs form entitled "General Declaration" for Apollo 11, dated July 24, 1969 with the departure from field listed as Moon and arrival at field listed as Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. The 3 crewmembers of the Apollo 11 mission have signed the form and "Moon rock and moon dust samples" is listed as the cargo.
