Brüsseler Steuer-Trickserei: EU-Kommission will Gas verteuern – und Bürger wie Industrie zahlen die Zeche Nach einem geleakten Gesetzentwurf will die EU-Kommission die Mitgliedstaaten verpflichten, Strom steuerlich nicht höher zu belasten als Erdgas. Damit der Strompreis auf dem Papier attraktiver wird, soll überall dort, wo der Strom nicht billiger gemacht werden kann, das Gas teurer werden. Vorgestellt werden soll der Plan Ende Juli – gemeinsam mit einem „Aktionsplan Elektrifizierung“. Dazu erklärt der AfD-Europaabgeordnete der ESN-Fraktion, @BuchheitMarkus: „Brüssel hat die Wahrheit über die Energiewende offenbar akzeptiert: Strom wird nicht billig, also macht man eben Gas teuer. Das ist keine Entlastung, das ist eine Verteuerung mit grünem Etikett. Besonders brisant ist der juristische Kniff: Statt die Energiesteuerrichtlinie zu ändern – was im Rat Einstimmigkeit und damit die Zustimmung jedes Mitgliedstaates erfordern würde , plant die Kommission offenbar eine Novellierung der Strommarkt-Verordnung. So lässt sich das nationale Vetorecht elegant umgehen. Das ist der eigentliche Skandal: Man umgeht bewusst die Einstimmigkeit, um den Mitgliedstaaten ihre Steuerhoheit aus der Hand zu nehmen. Erst entzieht man den Bürgern die Kontrolle über ihre Energiepreise, dann über ihre Steuern. Was bleibt, ist eine Brüsseler Behörde, die durchregiert. Während Kommissionspräsidentin von der Leyen davon spricht, ‘Strom werde bis zu fünfzehnmal stärker‘ besteuert als Gas, verschweigt die Kommission die andere Seite der Medaille: Gerade die energieintensive Industrie ist auf bezahlbares Erdgas angewiesen – nicht nur als Energieträger, sondern als Rohstoff. Höhere Gassteuern treffen Mittelstand, Produktion und am Ende jeden Haushalt mit Gasheizung. Hinzu kommt der erhöhte Druck auf Deutschland beim verpflichtenden Smart-Meter-Rollout – also noch mehr Kosten und mehr Datenzugriff in den eigenen vier Wänden. Die Bürger sollen für eine Politik bezahlen, die sie nie gewählt haben, mit Methoden, die ihre gewählten Regierungen aushebeln. Wir lehnen diesen Plan in aller Schärfe ab und werden ihn im Europäischen Parlament offensiv bekämpfen. Wer das Heizen teurer macht, um die gescheiterte Energiewende zu retten, betreibt Politik gegen das eigene Volk.“
