We're experimenting with a PDF companion for each episode — tables, charts, timelines, etc.
Here's our first one for Vanguard. Let us know what you think!

My son is watching Toy Story 4 on the plane next to me. I just glanced over and thought "huh, cool they shot this with anamorphic lenses."
But... it's animated. They INTENTIONALLY simulated the look of anamorphic lenses. Unbelievable attention to detail.
Okay, there's even more to it in this great video from @TheeNerdwriter.
Anamorphic is intentionally used when shooting Bo to contrast her mindset against Woody's.
Woody is "shot" with spherical lenses since he has a static world-view, resistant to change.
Insane.

In case you woke up this morning, saw people on the internet yelling at each other, and thought "jeez, why is the Luce so controversial for all the Ferrari die-hards?" acquired.fm/episodes/ferrari
Dithering is my favorite podcast. I listen to every episode.
I've been reading @daringfireball for over 20 years. @djrosent and I first bonded over sending each other @stratechery articles in 2014.
This is unbelievably cool and a complete surprise when I woke up this morning.
I love how heavily @SpaceX leaned into photography in their S-1. The first 15 pages are all pictures, many of which have no explanation at all.
It just makes you... feel.
In the new @AcquiredFM episode on Vanguard, @gilbert, @djrosent cited our research on companies that have 100x'd since IPO.
These are history's best stocks, with a 533x avg return. The basket includes Microsoft, Amazon, Costco, etc.
Yet the experience of owning them ain't easy.
Vanguard has directly saved investors $500 billion in fees since 1975.
And it's all because of their unique structure: they have no shareholders (besides their customers!), so they have no need to generate profits.
Our latest episode, in your podcast players now.
AI leaders need to talk more about the incredible positive upside of AI, not the conflated downsides (yes, I'm looking at you Dario). $GOOGL$NVDA
THANK YOU to Google's Amin Vahdat and Jeff Dean for their inspiring visions on what AI will enable. The video clip below is a MUST WATCH.
Also: “No matter what, it’s going to take a lot of compute”
It would be the dumbest thing ever to overregulate and cripple AI progress based on false, misleading AI doomer narratives.
I had a good time discussing yesterday's Google TPU v8t and v8i announcement at Cloud Next with Amin Vahdat along with @AcquiredFM hosts @gilbert
and @djrosent.
The blog post announcement has lots of details about these new chips:
