Our discussion continued with a panel of experts from @UNL_IANR, @unmc, @NCITE_COE and @KState's Biosecurity Research Institute. It is imperative that we safeguard national interests while advancing economic growth—and the panel explored strategies to achieve both.

We took a handful of students from Nebraska to DC and they briefed members of Congress about their research. It’s an experience most undergrads would never have. So happy to be working at a university that values student opportunities.

About 50 @UNOmaha students contribute to our national security through the @DHSgov research center. 27 students are currently focused on threats from Iran, including tracking drone activity and cyber threats.   NCITE does important counterterrorism work--right in the heart of Nebraska! wowt.com/2026/03/11/ncite-un…

Today we mourn the lives lost on Sept. 11 and the countless other victims of terrorist attacks since that tragic day. NCITE was established in 2020 to help policymakers, practitioners, and the public better understand the nature of terrorist threats to the United States homeland.

It’s September 11th. I woke up so so very grateful for the dedicated civil servants who have protected America from hundreds of terrorist attack attempts over the past 24 years. A thread on some specific teams (1/13)
