So "prominent criticism of [transatlantic] slavery" is a problem now?? We should remember those people who were enslaved by the British, lest we forget. And acknowledge the harms of this history & the legacies of that brutal slavery system: otherwise we deepen the damage.
In the Telegraph Robert Tombs agreed that ‘increasingly prominent criticism of slavery and the British Empire’ and ‘the generally negative portrayal of British history in the media, fiction, TV, films and schools’ were to blame.
