A final piece of advice from Holly Butcher - written the day before she passed away from cancer at just 27: “It’s a strange thing knowing you’re going to die young. At 26, I thought I had time… To fall in love. Start a family. Grow old. But cancer doesn’t care about plans. Now, I understand how fragile life really is. Every single day is a gift, not a guarantee. I’m not writing this to scare you. I’m writing to remind you: really live. Stop stressing over little things. Be kind to your body- move it, nourish it, stop criticizing it. One day you’ll wish you had appreciated it. Go outside. Look at the sky. Feel the sun. Just be. Spend less time chasing “stuff” - more time making memories. Don’t skip moments with people you love. Laugh more. Write a note. Tell someone you love them. Complain less. Give more. Helping others brings more joy than anything you can buy. Be present. Put your phone down. Show up - really show up. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need a perfect body, or a perfect life. Just follow what makes your heart light up. Say no to what drains you. Make changes when you need to. And please - donate blood. I wouldn’t have had that extra year without it. And that year gave me memories I’ll hold close… forever. Thank you for reading this. Live your life well. And maybe… we’ll meet again someday.” Holly 🩷 Repost & share Holly’s important advice. ❤️

Listened to the horrific clip from @mperlmuttermd on @PatKennyNT “All of the disasters I’ve seen, 40 mission trips, 30 yrs, Ground Zero, earthquakes, all of that combined, doesn’t equal the level of carnage that I saw in just my first week in Gaza” imemc.org/article/american-d…

We haven’t yet realised that misogyny is one of the most dangerous weapons on Earth. The best friend of authoritarians and oligarchs. The handmaiden of tyrants. Worst of all, we haven’t yet realised that misogyny represents the most urgent and pressing threat to global security.
They came after me with the cat lady shit too. So please just sit down & listen. Misogyny is one of the deadliest weapons on earth. Misogyny is electoral interference. Misogyny is a national security threat so lethal we can’t even see it. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

Another push for this in todays @irishexaminer. I think it's important. The repercussions of Israel's psychopathic bid to erase the Palestinian people should cause each and every one of us to audit our casual life choices. Their children will thank us. So will ours.

When will people learn that leaving football nets out can and DO cause unnecessary suffering and injuries to animals. Please DO NOT leave them out overnight, put them away after play. #footballnet #animalwelfare #animalcruelty #cat #animalrescue

A wonderful read tennis 🎾
Tennis icons Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova met as teenagers, forged one of the greatest rivalries in sports and then became close friends. After 50 years, Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova understand each other like no one else can. When cancer came, they both knew where to turn. wapo.st/3NR7Qet

Many young girls around the world quit sports every day, often for the same shocking reasons shared by the players in the video below. Well done to @LFC for supporting Play On, to help empower young girls to achieve their goals off the pitch. sc.com/en/about/sponsorship-…
