this is the kind of stuff I currently think about/work on
Neural networks might speak English, but they think in shapes. Understanding their rich *neural geometry* is key to understanding how they work – and to debugging and controlling them with precision. Starting today, we’re releasing a series of posts on this research agenda. 🧡

β€œIt seems necessary in a world where everything happens at once and in which the daily environment is alive with messages and meaning that the training of perception becomes the necessary work of any school.” Marshall McLuhan β€˜Education in the Electronic Age’ 1967
The education of the future will be an education of the senses. You need to be able to see with different eyes in this new world.

trying to find more ways to engage with this feeling of effort. it’s actually kind of enjoyable in the moment even though it’s a struggle? in that it makes me feel very *alive*
only about a week ago I realized that Effort is a Feeling. like it’s a distinct subjective feeling from the action you’re taking. like lifting a weight and struggling against it… it’s not just in the muscles. don’t know if this makes sense but it was a revelation for me

like so much of a revelation that I’m like have I ever even put actual effort into anything? I only realized because I was struggling SO MUCH with a pull up that I had to gather willpower from somewhere I’ve never done so

really good post from @jasminewsun on navigating a career as a new grad in the age of ai. some highlights:
I've been thinking about the booing at college commencements & wondered: what advice would I give a 22yo for the age of AI? thinking back to my own graduation into the pandemic, I think the #1 thing is having the right disposition toward change jasmi.news/p/2026-advice

I think maybe the opposite of happiness isn’t sadness, but boredom. Happiness & sadness are actually quite close to each other experientially
