GNOME Web now has “Canary” 🐦 builds which can be installed using #Flatpak thanks to @_philn_. These use periodic snapshots from the @WebKitGTK repository and can be used to preview what's new in the web engine. Read more at base-art.net/Articles/introd…

I'm now using the #WebApplication feature of @gnomeweb (epiphany-browser) and it works fine. Steps to reproduce: 1) Uninstall Whatsie 2) Open Gnome Web and go to web.whatsapp.com 3) Select 'Install Site as Web Application' from the burger menu 4) I named it #Whatsie ;-)

But with this setup, you should not compare the output of @gnomeweb with the blurry one from @firefox on the #HighRes screen. This is one of the points, why @gnome application built with @GTKtoolkit are awesome. Btw Gnome Web (#Epiphany) uses @WebKitGTK engine. #wayland

#PSA for those using the GNOME Web Technology Preview Flatpak: manual intervention is needed to update: blogs.gnome.org/mcatanzaro/2… 🚧 On the upside, now the Tech Preview and stable versions of Web can be installed in parallel, and it is easier than ever to try upcoming features.
