Bridge appears in medieval records as Schollerwyek (settlement by a river bend). This Scandinavian term likely refers to the sharp curve of the River Alt nearby. Located near an 8,000-year-old Mesolithic site. @angiesliverpool @YOLiverpool

The bridge was demolished during the First World War for military reasons. It was rebuilt in the 1990s following pressure from the Ramblers Association.

So proud :-) My grandson meeting Andy Burnham at Stalybridge Station this morning on a visit here. Might be worth something when he is PM (AB that is, but you never know) @angiesliverpool

In more austere times, it was common practice to take these when holidaying. Found in my 94 year-old mother-in-law's wardrobe. @angiesliverpool

AHH planning application 2009 for a dedicated 21 vehicle car park for McDonald House visitors. Interesting to note this is now the Springfield Park car park. Trading ownership of a strategic plot to facilitate more building development space perhaps? @dunbarrover @nannybear5

Springfield Park games area looking very waterlogged yesterday. The workmen digging a channel to the drain shown. If my bearings are right, that is a sewer drain -don't think discharging surface water into it is an option @dunbarrover @nannybear5

Springfield Park football organisers please note. Assuming the two inner squares are the pitches, they are 80m in length, 10m short of he minimum size for 11-a- side football. @FOSPLiverpool @keithjones1943 @ShirtandJ @nannybear5

I noticed the black face but didn't like to mention it for obvious reasons. It was 70 years ago

Judging by the headgear, I assume this was our local Queen's Coronation street party. Taking place on the bomb site that became Arnot Street Secondary Modern School. The surviving top half of Index Street can be seen in the background. @angiesliverpool @YOLiverpool

Is this encroachment? Plots 7,8 & 9 in the Alder Hey housing complex are on land earmarked as Springfield Park. The boundary line on the original plan runs alongside the access road in front of McDonald House @FOSPLiverpool @KACouncillors @keithjones1943 @nannybear5
