In other news, today the NIH proposed caping the maximum of grants at 2 per research lab, including collaborations.

We're living in the upside down.
Lila Sciences may raise about $2 billion at an $8.5 billion valuation.
That number looks incredible if you treat Lila as a normal AI biotech. It makes a little more sense (maybe!) if you treat it as a bet on a new R&D operating system.
Lila’s pitch is AI Science Factories: AI systems connected to automated labs that generate hypotheses, design experiments, run them, learn from the results, and repeat. In other words: model, robot lab, experiment, data, repeat. The whole shebang.
Or “scientific superintelligence” and “operating system for science," as Lila calls it. (3/7)
Russell Vought’s proposal to make politics, not peer review, the standard for NIH science grants would be a cataclysm for the American science enterprise.
It takes so long to publish these days that four years is often not enough to complete what would be considered a successful PhD.
For comparison, in just four years Jimi Hendrix recorded roughly 170 songs, released three legendary albums, played Woodstock, and changed music forever.
Q: If the president is in such perfect health, why does he keep going back in for checkups?
DR OZ: I think he likes the results. He does really well. He aces the test every single day.
Pulte's only qualification is that he is willing to abuse his authority to destroy Trump's political enemies.
He has zero national security experience. He's going to DNI to spy on Trump's opponents ahead of the election.
Period. Stop.
And Trump doesn't care if you know it.
60 minutes is dead. What’s on now is just the remnants of a legendary news magazine. The Ellison’s can’t be reasoned with because they’re killing the show by design. So fuck em. NBC or ABC should hire the whole staff and re-create the show in the same timeslot with a new name.
If implemented, this would be one of the most significant shifts in federal research governance in modern U.S. history.
The concern is not simply budget cuts. It is political review moving into individual grant decisions - fundamentally changing how American science operates.

Woah. A profound shift in American science is coming.
Every federal research grant could soon require sign-off from a political appointee.
Scientific progress depends on funding decisions grounded in merit and public health need, NOT ideological approval.
Having Milli Vanilli, a group who ended up admitting they didn't actually sing on their records, as performers for Freedom 250, is one of the most on brand things Trump has done.
