One persistent myth about millennials is that they switch jobs more than previous generations. It's not true. In fact, millennial workers have been less likely to switch employers during the year than members of prior generations were at the same age, especially Baby Boomers.

I have some Italy suggestions. We started by going to Salerno, which is a nice base in Southern Italy with a lovely old core. It's an easy train ride to Paestum: Ruins of a Greek-then-Roman city that you can just wander around freely. Including walking through Greek temples!

Rome is incredible. My finds this time were the Aurelian wall museum, which is free and lets you just walk around on the walls (again, deserted) and Centrale Montemartini, a museum with (of course) ancient Roman artifacts displayed throughout an old power plant.

One of my favorite spots in Rome is an abbey outside of the city walls on the purported site of John's beheading. It's now the site of Italy's only Trappist brewery. Just ride to the end of the metro line and walk ~15 minutes, and it feels like you're in a different world.

My poor Spotify algorithm is doing its best after I went deep into a hole of Italian stoner rock before going to Italy. I found some real gems with ~100 monthly listeners.

In the criminal justice system, business-based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Strategic Business Unit. These are their stories.

SoFi revamped the categories to which I can assign all of my expenses. I suspect that the people creating the categories might be from a rather narrow demographic. As one example: there's a category for pets, even one for "Tobacco & Vape" shopping, but nothing for children.

We already knew that Larry Summers flew on Jeffrey Epstein's plane multiple times, but now we know that he shared his sexist musings with Epstein via email. In this example, Summers summarized his view that he should be entitled to harass women: "DO NOT REPEAT THIS INSIGHT."

Love to find out when I reach Gallery Place that the Red line is in shambles.

Drivers routinely speed down Sligo Ave through East Silver Spring, where I live, despite a high volume of pedestrians. A child was recently hit at this intersection but MCDOT, citing traffic engineering logic, refuses to consider stop signs. This approach is killing pedestrians.

We know that it's killing pedestrians and bikers because kids have been killed at Montgomery County intersections only to have MCDOT refuse to put in basic safety infrastructure. At this intersection, it took two dead kids to get a stop sign (gift link): wapo.st/4qubQmi

Under the leadership of @MontCoExec Marc Elrich , MCDOT has continued the ossified approach of prioritizing traffic speeds, making all road users less safe. MoCo CMs must start pushing for MCDOT to prioritize safety for pedestrians and bikers, or we'll see many more deaths.

I've been less online than usual lately because my wife rescued this adorable kitten who we found hiding under cars and in bushes near our house. It's hard to do much of anything with something this cute in my lap. She's settling into her new home and purring up a storm!

It says something about shifting culture wars that this incident probably won't inspire a freakout about video games the way others have.

I have learned from examining public records is that it's common for homeowners to claim homestead exemptions on multiple properties to pay less property taxes. A homeowner should only be able to get one exemption. Local tax authorities tend to do nothing about this tax fraud.

Localities shouldn't be giving tax breaks exclusively to homeowners, but unfortunately they're often politically popular so they're widely offered. If localities insist on having them, they should at least ensure that they're limited to those eligible. ca.news.yahoo.com/exclusive-…
