But to use this as an example is just complete failure to understand anything about how search or media works.

"White mother" wouldn't be used unless race is the point of the article, typically in about mixed-families or perhaps essays about whiteness.
Nothing about the ranking of the results are "woke." The default case of a white mom talking about her white family never gets captioned.

Another data deep dive!
Getting sick of the "Your gas car loses range too over time" chorus, I wanted to quantify it - because the numbers are always nebulous.
I scraped years of real world fuel-up data from 252 ICE vehicles across various model/year combos and ran some stats.

Updated with more precise MPG / Range loss figures after parsing more years, more models, and omitting ones with data gaps, anchoring to MPG values in the first year.
Overall, result is basically the same:
-0.391 %/yr (95% CI -0.443 -0.340) across 1102 cars / 252 models

Ok, this should have been expected, but Hybrids fall off more quickly than gas.
My assumption is this is battery degradation kicking in.
It ticks up after 8-10 years briefly. I would guess from replacing the battery pack.

The average *improved* to 0.36% MPG loss per year.
Prius is among the "bad" - would make sense with hybrid batteries experiencing multiple cycles per day potentially.
