GI nematodes infect people and animals globally. We aim to unravel complex interactions of parasite, pathogen and the intestinal environment in which they live
My biggest writing motivator is being mad about stuff, so I tackled the topic of academic bullying.
It started as a rant, but I've tried to make it something people can use as a starting point to get help.

Erin is in Gothenburg for the Mucin Meeting. She is presenting a poster this afternoon on goblet cell markers during Trichuris muris infection. #mucin2024
Dave letting us know what's good in secreted mucin research! Thanks for the shoutout, and it's poster 83 this afternoon to hear about my work on goblet cells in helminth infection.
Also looking to talk sci-comm! #AskMeAboutMyBlog#mucin2024
En route to Gothenburg for #mucin2024! Excited to present a poster about my work on goblet cells during helminth infection.
Also another chance to bring up my sci-comm blog piece I wrote in my first year (before I became the blog overlord) @mucinmeetingmanchesterresearchhive.wordp…
At the Liverpool BSP this week. Catching up with old friends and good to see the @grencisgroup listening carefully to Macaulay’s talk via zoom! @LydiaBeckerIII

We're at @McrMuseum for #BSW24 today and tomorrow, helping secondary school pupils and the general public learn more about viruses and the skin microbiome.
Visit our stalls and play 'Splat the Virus', 'Neutralise the Virus' and our guess the number of bacteria competition! 🦠🧫
Our PhD student @ErinPallott will be giving a short talk about parasites and mucus during lunch.
She also runs the blog @UoMHive for PhD students and postdocs to post publicly accessible articles about their research and PhD journey.

Hey #sbsannualevent2024
I'll be representing @UoM_DIIIRM in the lunch time flash talks. I love talking about my research in an accessible way, and I'm looking forward to hearing everyone else's.
(Also ask me about my blog).
We're hearing plenty about helminths this morning at
#BSI23. If you want EVEN MORE I will be presenting my work on goblet cell subpopulations during helminth infection at P-136 during lunch, coffee break and the evening poster session.
#BeckerAtTheBSI@LydiaBeckerIII
I'm also taking the opportunity to promote my blog @UoMHive. I aim to give PhD students a space to practice and publish their science communication.
I'd love to chat about any and all sci-comm and public engagement projects with people.

I'm here at #BSI23 for the monocyte badge to finally complete my collection. I'm secondarily here to discuss my research (P136) on goblet cells and mucus during infection.

Delighted to share our preprint, focuses on why host immunity drives fungal allergic disease. Utilises alot of single cell tech to show that dendritic cells are integral.
This has been an amazing ride - real team effort with co-authors. Take a look!
