Laying off federal workers and doubling the price of health insurance was a choice. Making the price of electricity go up double the inflation rate is a choice. And giving 20 billion dollars to Argentina is a choice. They have enough money. They just don’t have any for you.

It was a beautiful Sunday in Portland. Farmer’s markets, the Portland Marathon, peaceful protests, and some views of Mt. Hood. This city is vibrant, peaceful, and resilient. We do not need a federal occupation, and we sure as hell don’t want one.

Bukele forced out independent judges, packed the courts with loyalists, then declared a state of emergency that allowed him to arrest and indefinitely detain people without any due process. When we say these guys are advocating for fascist ideas, it’s because they literally are.

DONALD TRUMP IS AN AUTHORITARIAN THUG! HE IS USING THE U.S. MILITARY AS A POLITICAL WEAPON AGAINST AMERICAN CITIZENS.

Having illegitimately attempted to federalize the Oregon National Guard and being blocked because there is no “invasion” or “rebellion” in Portland, Trump continues to try to incite riots and violence by deploying the California National Guard to Portland.

This is unacceptable. This is wrong. This is un-American.

This is authoritarianism, plain and simple.

ICE is a rogue lawless agency that is shredding American democracy. It must be fully dismantled and its duties reimagined elsewhere. This is not salvageable.

This court ruling is a victory for rule of law.  

There is no "rebellion" or "invasion" in PDX to justify federalizing Oregon's National Guard.

The president is not a king and Trump is shredding our Constitution.

So let's protest -- but joyfully and peacefully. Do not get drawn into Trump's cycle of violence. It’s his goal to cite violence to justify more authoritarian power. Let's not let him achieve it.

The two things Democrats really want: *an ACA extension *an end to Russ Vought and Trump deciding on their own whether to spend money appropriated by Congress. If those 2 things were on the CR - neither of which have anything to do with illegal immigrants, I think every D would vote for it.
