Founders: what is one piece of tactical advice (I'm not talking "try hard" or "don't give up"... i mean a small, simple, tactical piece of advice) that can make a founder's life easier, even just slightly? I'll give a few popular examples:

Honestly feel like if you put a random person in NYC right now that was deaf & blind they could feel the energy in the air these past 2 weeks.

a pattern i keep seeing in this YC batch: paying customers asking to invest. one customer literally bought a company's hardware, loved it, then asked for equity. no better story for a lead investor than "everyone who uses this wants to own a piece."

This is great, I vibe coded a similar thing for myself, but of course if someone really focuses on it I think itโ€™s a big opportunity

Three of our portfolio companies (Fund I and II) have pivoted to roll-ups over the past 24 months and are crushing it. 7-10x our entry valuation. Easier to buy and automate in dated industries than wait to implement/adopt.

Actually would be interesting if someone studied this
Steph Curry admits he was shooting like trash as a rookie because he was lifting weights out of vanity "I came in as a shooter in the draft, but I'm shooting like trash in training camp the first week" "Don Nelson walked in there and cussed out everybody in the room. He's like y'all are killing the shot, he's lifting too much weight" "I always wanted to get stronger, most of it was just vanity" LeBron: "Look better in the jersey. All these mirrors around here, y'all telling me I got to look like this"

During the World Cup in 2002, reigning world player of the year winner Luis Figo looked at Bruce Arena after halftime, pointed to Frankie Hejduk and said "that guy's pretty good".

Worth a listen with Bending Spoons filing to go public today. We talk about their origins, playbook, talent and everything in between. Couple things I liked from their S-1: - Luck plays a big role in finding PMF - Luck is irrelevant when pursuing operational excellence - Talent > experience: "Nearly all of our businesses and functions are led by people in their twenties or thirties, most of whom had little or no work experience prior to joining Bending Spoons."
Luca Ferrari is the co-founder and CEO of @bendingspoons, one of the most fascinating companies in Europe and just became Italy's first decacorn. He describes it as 25% private equity firm and 75% technology company. They fully acquire and rebuild digital companies like Evernote, Vimeo, and most recently AOL. @luke10ferrari shares exactly how the Bending Spoons playbook works โ€” how they find great businesses, improve every core function, and finance them with both debt and equity to own and operate forever. We also talk about his obsession with attracting and developing exceptional talent and why he's determined to build a generational company in Europe. Enjoy!
