@100schoolHQ is 5YRS OLD this week π₯³
The team hit me with a surprise celebration (see videoΒ for proof that Brits can't take compliments without squirming)β¦
Honestly, this milestone feels bittersweet. Part of me looks back and thinks "5 YEARS and this is it?!" But then I remember...
- This was never meant to be a biz - just an outlet for me to learn a new skill during Covid.
- This was my first business straight out of uni.
- There's always been a chunky time lag between what the biz needed and where my skills were at.
- Everything has been a "first" - from registering the company to making that first hire to figuring out how to actually run a business.
Letβs just say Iβve been stumbling, learning and making every mistake in the book more than I have been ruthlessly heads down actually "building". We've been:
- Completely bootstrapped in an industry that typically runs on venture capital
- Building an impact-first business in a profit-first world
- Navigating big changes in learner behaviours (pre / post covid) and tech (AI !!)
And you can see this in how MUCH weβve changed over the years, fromβ¦
2020: accidental semi-viral hashtag
2021: tiny paid community
2022: experimenting with live bootcamps
2023: going all in on 100 day challenges
2024: trying to build an education platform
Teaching 50k students in the process.
We've rolled with the punches - lived to tell the tail - and now we're ready to throw our own punches on our own terms.
So as we enter year 6, we're getting serious. Thankfully the ceiling is no longer my capabilities, because we have a β¨ great team β¨ (
@_StefyB @hdkstr @ScottColenutt , Jared Perry,
@GuillaumeBardet Malek Jalessi,
@nocheerleader) driving our vision forward too!!
The World Economic Forum has made it clear that nearly half of the skills we rely on today will become irrelevant by 2027 -
@100schoolHQ will be there to help you reskill and thrive in a world we werenβt raised for.
To everyone who has been part of this journey so far - our team, students, partners, and supporters - THANKYOU π. The best is yet to come.
