Very excited to finally share this: Bittensor will be presented to students at @42born2code next Monday in Paris, just ahead of @proofoftalk. 42 is one of the most respected coding schools in France and Europe and shares a philosophy that feels remarkably aligned with Bittensor: no traditional teachers, peer-to-peer learning, and a strong emphasis on autonomy and merit. It’s the perfect place to introduce the ecosystem and hopefully lay the groundwork for future hands-on initiatives such as hackathons and technical workshops. A huge thank you to @opentensor and @bitstarterAI for sponsoring the event and helping make it happen. @taogalaxy_ is co-organizing the event alongside @42Blockchain_, the school’s blockchain club, whose support throughout the organization has been incredible. Speakers include: • @macrozack (@bitstarterAI) • @MaxScore (@webuildscore) • @mccrinbc (@MacrocosmosAI) • Myself (@taogalaxy_) If you’ll be in Paris on June 1st, we still have a few spots available: luma.com/9dxbko6d For those who can’t make it, the event will be recorded and I’ll share it on X shortly afterwards. Can’t wait for this one. 🚀

Regard caméra, sourire en coin : « Let that sink in. "You are fired".

New cohort. New builders. Same obsession. 42's next Web3 wave is on the way, and they're built different. Keep your eyes open 👀 Thanks to our president @Robe_Mule for presenting @42Blockchain_ to all the newcomers at @42born2code 🫡
Student associations forum at 42 Paris @42born2code , and it was 🔥 New cohort 💪, new builders. The exchanges at our booth confirmed what we felt coming: this generation is ready to build Web3, and they know how to show it. Diverse profiles, curiosity on point, and plenty of follow-ups ahead. 👀 42Blockchain is making its mark. What comes next will be strong. #Web3 #42Paris #Blockchain

They kept showing up. They kept improving. And this time, they made it all the way to the top. 🥇 We’re proud to celebrate our students for ranking #1 worldwide in the CodinGame Winter Challenge 2026 – SNAKEBYTE. Behind this result are hours of effort, learning, testing, failing, retrying, and pushing further. Shoutout to University of #Wroclaw and @42born2code for keeping the level high and the competition real, we’ll take this one, but it wouldn’t hit the same without the chase. And to the @42Network 5 campuses in the Top 10. The level keeps rising. So does the challenge. A huge congratulations to every student who represented 1337 on this challenge. You earned this. @UM6P_officiel #1337CodingSchool #CodinGame #StudentAchievement #LearningByDoing #FutureIsLoading

As a novice dev, this paper was a nice handshake to my recent experience in the workplace. Despite the size of the study (n=52), the results are very relatable. I'm sure the findings would be even more pronounced if it were to be replicated with a larger sample size as a longitudinal study. Nevertheless, here are my favourite insights with personal comments: "For data science tasks, Wiles et al. described the impact of AI on non-technical consultants as an “exoskeleton”, the enhanced technical abilities enabled by AI did not persist when workers no longer had access to AI" >building on @BackTheBunny's concept of AI as a skill gap amplifier. Those with high agency can be careful enough to preserve skill formation and use it as an enhancer, while those with low agency will recklessly use it to automate the task at the cost of skill development. "While studies find that junior or less experienced developers experience greater productivity uplift from using AI, these very same workers should be quickly developing new skills in the workplace. Yet the effect of these tools on the skill formation of this subgroup remains unknown. Will the skill development of novice workers be affected significantly since they are still in the process of learning their trade? We are motivated by whether this productivity comes from free or at a cost." >At @42born2code we would have coding problems to solve and tested by the "moulinette" (a software that reviews ur submission after running dozens of tests), but before this, the code needs to be reviewed by two people, in-person. Imagine they ask a question about your code and ... you don't know how to answer? Incredibly embarrassing isn't it? So before any submissions, everyone is incentivised to be able to explain their code line by line at any time by anyone. For me, this is turning out to be an advantageous habit in the workplace. Other novice devs don't have it and then, when prompted to explain their code, they look incompetent. "A higher fraction of debugging queries correlates with slower completion times and lower quiz scores. This suggests that relying on AI for debugging (e.g. repetatedly asking AI to check and fix things without understanding) when learning a new task is correlated with less learning" >Funny because I often regret using AI for debugging. The times I use it, I spend too much time querying, waiting for the code to work as intended. When I do it myself I take a bit more time (if not the same amount) but I'm rewarded with self-accomplishment and a slightly steeper learning curve. "Among participants who use AI, we find a stark divide in skill formation outcomes between high-scoring interaction patterns (65%-86% quiz score) vs low-scoring interaction patterns (24%-39% quiz score). The high scorers only asked AI conceptual questions instead of code generation or asked for explanations to accompany generated code; these usage patterns demonstrate a high level of cognitive engagement." >You should strive to be a curious person, fill the knowledge gaps with conceptual queries, and practice explaining it back to yourself or a colleague. But you also have to remain curious and not rush a task and succumb to the dopamine release of the prompt [slot] machine. >Despite this agentic era and all the hype about "software being solved", most enterprises still rely on legacy code. And it won't magically integrate itself with AI. The skill for this is still very much in demand.
recommended reading. had this on my reading list for a while, finally found time. it's a small study, ymmv. would love to see one with senior engs. they great atrophy has begun. arxiv.org/abs/2601.20245
