This is a distress tweet.
@DCPSEBCP I had given a complaint which was forwarded to DCPSEBCP via email on 9th Feb by compolbcp. Details are elaborated in the complaint. I currently live in London and am unable to visit the police station in person. The situation has escalated – our new tenants have been trying to move in for the past 3 days and are being obstructed by the Secretary of Bren Palms apartments on Kudlu Main Road,560068.
Our previous tenant was wrongfully restrained and obstructed from moving out on 4th Feb by the facility manager and the Secretary of Bren Palms. She had to approach Bandepalya Police Station 3 times before her family could move out on 5th Feb. On 7th Feb, we emailed the Secretary and FM informing them about new tenants moving in on 9th Feb and asked them to clarify move-in guidelines. On the same day, the facility manager confirmed over the phone that our new tenants would not be allowed to move in. However, when asked to confirm that by email, they refuse to do so. Neither have they issued a written notice for the same.
Our new tenants have been struggling and distressed since 9thFeb, as they have been intimidated by the Secretary to not move in, threatened with disconnection of services, including water, instilled with fear of being hated by all, ostracism, and being boycotted from attending social events, made to listen to derogatory comments about us and our previous tenant, made to feel that they are under surveillance and incepted with an idea of an unliveable environment.
On 10th Feb, painters whose service we hired were driven away from the flat with the threat of jail, with the house half painted while the painters were under the supervision of the tenant. Earlier in the morning, they were obstructed from entering the premises for around an hour for no reason. Moving in would be a problem if the painting work is not allowed to be completed.
No clarity provided – one or the other adhoc reasons are used to obstruct the move-in – MyGate app not working, supervisor not available, gate pass, society move-in form not filled, etc. The rental agreement is executed, duly signed, and notarised. Tenants have shared rental agreement, copies of IDs, and copies of employment proof with the Secretary – but the move-in form has not been shared for the past 3 days despite multiple requests for the same. At the same time, they claim tenants cannot move in until the society move-in form is submitted.
The tenants have booked movers and packers for 12th Feb to shift their luggage to our flat, and they are worried because they have nowhere else to go if obstructed.
The Secretary contends that maintenance dues are pending for our flat. But, the matter of payment of disputed maintenance dues is sub-judice before the Anekal Court in S.C. No.3/2022. We are awaiting directions from the Hon. Court.
They take comfort from the fact that there is no consequence, as previous visits to the police station have not resulted in a registered complaint. We and our tenants are undergoing tremendous stress due to this.
Can you please help take some action?
