The National Conclave on “Minorities Welfare - Inclusive Development through AI for Viksit Bharat,” organised by the Ministry of Minority Affairs under the vision of “Bhagidaari Se Bhaagyoday,” concluded with extensive discussions and interactions involving States/UTs, Ministries and organisations. The Conclave focused on AI adoption, skill development and technology-enabled governance to improve the delivery and outreach of welfare schemes. The session featured presentations by divisions of the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Organisations such as Generation India (McKinsey), EkStep Foundation, Gnani AI and Sarvam AI also presented possible technology-driven interventions and AI-enabled support systems for improving governance, outreach and service delivery. Participating States/UTs shared practical suggestions, on-ground experiences and implementation challenges during the interactive session and Q&A. The concluding session by Dr. Srivatsa Krishna, Secretary, MoMA, highlighted the importance of stronger Centre-State coordination, technology-enabled governance and collaborative efforts to improve the delivery of welfare schemes for minority communities across the country. The Ministry of Minority Affairs organised a National Conclave on “Minorities Welfare - Inclusive Development through AI for Viksit Bharat” under the vision of “Bhagidaari Se Bhaagyoday”. The Conclave has been chaired by Dr. Srivatsa Krishna, Secretary, MoMA, in the presence of Shri Ashim Kumar Modi, Joint Secretary; Shri S.P. Roy, Joint Secretary; Shri Ram Singh, Joint Secretary; Shri Mohammad Afzal, Joint Secretary; and Dr. Abha Rani Singh, CMD, NMDFC, along with representatives from States/UTs and senior officials from various Ministries of the Government of India. The discussions focused on strengthening implementation, improving coordination, and exploring the role of technology and AI-enabled solutions in improving delivery, monitoring and outreach of the Ministry’s schemes at the ground level. The session included presentations on MoMA’s schemes and initiatives, a showcase of the Ministry’s ongoing work, and interactions with participating States/UTs on practical challenges, feedback and possible digital interventions for better governance and service delivery. Girls continue to grow up without meaningful access to technology and the opportunities it enables in many communities across Nigeria. On International Girls in ICT Day, we join the global community in recognizing the critical role of girls in shaping an inclusive digital future, particularly as conversations on AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future continue to gain momentum. At @Areai4Africa, this is a persistent reality we encounter. Girls remain excluded from digital learning spaces because access, exposure, and structured support remain limited. According to the International Telecommunication Union, women are still less likely than men to use the internet globally, with the disparity most pronounced in low-income and underserved communities. This gap has far-reaching implications as exclusion from ICT today directly influences who can access learning, participate in the workforce, and contribute to innovation tomorrow. Our response remains deliberate and sustained. Through the Digital Skills Accelerator (DSA), we are expanding access for girls and young women who are furthest from opportunity, equipping them with foundational digital competencies, introducing them to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, and strengthening their capacity to participate meaningfully in the digital economy. We remain committed to deepening this work, strengthening implementation, and expanding our reach. Bridging the digital divide requires sustained investment, coordinated action, and an unwavering commitment to equity.
