THE HARROD REPORT: Ukrainian Hackers Target Russian Drone Maker Gaskar Group ROUNDUP NEWSWIRES: The BO Team claims cyberattack on Gaskar Group, a Russian drone manufacturer supplying the military. HACKER NEWSWIRE Data wiped, systems destroyed. Employee data stolen. A Ukrainian hacktivist group, known as BO Team, has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack against the Russian drone manufacturer, Gaskar Group. The group announced the breach on its Telegram channel, stating the operation was conducted in collaboration with the Ukrainian Cyber Alliance and Ukraine’s military intelligence. The groups claim to have successfully infiltrated Gaskar Group’s network and server infrastructure. According to the announcement, the cyberattack resulted in the destruction of over 250 systems, including 46 virtual servers and more than 200 workstations. The hacktivists also allege that 47 terabytes of company data and 10 terabytes of backups were wiped. In addition to the data destruction, BO Team claims to have stolen the personal data of Gaskar Group employees, including home addresses and family information. Drones have been extensively utilized by both Ukrainian and Russian forces since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The Gaskar Group is reportedly a supplier of drones to the Russian military. As of yet, the Gaskar Group has not released any statement regarding the alleged cyberattack. A request for comment sent to the company’s official Telegram phone number has gone unanswered. US based Palantir Technologies an AI military software company with ties to Ukraine is said to have denied that any of its platforms were involved in the strategic Russian procurement military hack. Palantir offers several key platforms, including Gotham - for intelligence and defense. Palantir serves a diverse range of clients, including government agencies; like the US Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense. Palantir's technology is used by various defense and intelligence organizations around the world helping these clients with national security, counter-terrorism, and defense operations. Palantir has been actively expanding its AI capabilities and has recently delivered AI-enabled systems to the US military and intelligence community.
