🚨 BREAKING: Trump just made a major move inside the U.S. intelligence community. After days of backlash over the appointment of Bill Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence, President Trump has now nominated former SEC Chairman and current U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton to become the next DNI. The move comes as Congress is locked in a fierce battle over renewing FISA Section 702, one of America's most powerful foreign intelligence surveillance tools. The Guardian 1 Critics from both parties questioned whether Pulte had the national security experience needed for the role, and the controversy helped derail efforts to extend key surveillance authorities in Congress. The House even voted down a temporary FISA extension as lawmakers fought over the intelligence leadership shakeup. Reuters 2 Trump described Clayton as a "highly respected" leader and wants him to take over the nation's top intelligence position. Some Republicans are praising the pick as a strong choice, while others in Washington remain focused on the larger battle over government surveillance powers and national security. Washington Examiner 1 With tensions rising overseas and intelligence agencies warning about threats from foreign adversaries, the fight over who controls America's intelligence apparatus is suddenly front-page news. 📺 " Watch live: UFO whistleblower, lawmakers aim to declassify UAP files " 🔗youtube.com/live/u_emZmzkTtM… Today June 9, 2026 . At Capitol Hill, members of Congress, journalists, researchers, and whistleblowers gathered to call for greater transparency and the declassification of UAP records. Filmmaker James Fox opened the event by highlighting the 1996 Varginha, Brazil case, arguing that multiple witnesses reported encounters with non-human beings and urging the release of all U.S. government files related to the incident. Representative Anna Paulina Luna announced that the UAP Task Force is working with the White House to strengthen whistleblower protections and pursue immunity for individuals willing to disclose the locations of alleged recovered craft and advanced technologies. Representative Eric Burlison said Congress is now demanding specific records, videos, facilities, contractors, and documents connected to alleged crash retrieval and reverse-engineering programs, adding that the era of secrecy must come to an end. Representative Tim Burchett argued that the American people deserve to know how taxpayer money has been spent and claimed the UAP issue has been hidden from public oversight for decades. Representative Jared Moskowitz said that repeated resistance from government agencies and intelligence officials convinced many lawmakers that significant information is still being withheld from Congress. Journalist Leslie Kean called for greater attention to the biological aspect of the phenomenon, arguing that evidence of non-human life should not remain classified under national security justifications. David Grusch delivered one of the most significant speeches of the event. He stated that during his official intelligence duties he was exposed to information concerning foreign UAP crash retrieval efforts, U.S. reverse-engineering programs, and government-held audiovisual material related to recovered vehicles and associated biological material. He urged the Defense Intelligence Agency to provide these records to Congress and submit them for mandatory declassification review. Grusch also stated that he identified billions of dollars in hidden funding connected to these activities and argued that secrecy has undermined constitutional oversight for decades. He called on the administration to release the relevant records instead of relying on leaks or anonymous testimony. During the Q&A session, Grusch recommended reading the declassified 1971 Australian intelligence assessment preserved in the Australian National Archives, specifically pages 7–16, saying it discusses the U.S. cover-up of the phenomenon and CIA involvement during the 1970s. The event concluded with a call for worldwide disclosure, stronger protections for whistleblowers, and the release of all government records related to the UAP issue. I created a video with all the 58 pages of the declassified document mentioned by Grush. NAA: A13693-3092-2-000 In many pages not mentioned by Grush there are many interesting reports of sightings of those past decades. They deserve a careful reading, I hope someone will find time and patience. #ODNI #Pulte #IntelligenceCommunity #Trump #NationalSecurity #SSI #SIRP #SegurançaInterna

The Silent Architect of Military Intelligence: Major General Ibrahim Dahiru Gumel While names like Babangida and Abacha dominate the headlines of the 1990s, Major General Ibrahim Dahiru Gumel was one of the most powerful men operating behind the scenes. Known within military circles as a "strategic thinker," General Gumel’s career provides a fascinating window into the height of Nigeria’s military-political era. Before he ever held a political office, Gumel was the ultimate "intelligence boss." He served as the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI) from 1991 to 1995. This meant he sat at the center of the security apparatus during the most turbulent years of the 1990s spanning the June 12 crisis, the transition to the Interim National Government, and the rise of the Abacha regime. Unlike many officers who stayed strictly within security roles, Gumel successfully transitioned into civil administration. He served as the Minister of Transport under General Sani Abacha. During his tenure, he was a key figure in the attempt to revive the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), a project that remains a major talking point in Nigerian development today. During the mid-90s, when Nigeria faced heavy international sanctions, General Gumel was often deployed as a Special Envoy. Because of his background in intelligence and his calm demeanor, he was trusted to carry sensitive messages to foreign heads of state, acting as a diplomatic bridge when formal channels were closed. Even while in service and briefly afterward, his influence extended into the corporate, aviation, and maritime sectors. He used his vast experience from the Ministry of Transport to advise on national logistics and security, proving he was as comfortable in a boardroom as he was in a command center. General Gumel was known for being remarkably low-profile despite his immense influence. In an era where many military officers were flamboyant, Gumel was described as reserved and intellectual. He was a core member of the "inner caucus" but rarely sought the limelight, preferring to operate where the real decisions were made. The year 1998 was a turning point for Nigeria, and it also marked the end for General Gumel. He passed away in December 1998, just six months after the death of General Sani Abacha. His death came during the delicate transition toward the Fourth Republic, marking the final exit of one of the most influential figures of the 1990s military era. Did you know General I.D. Gumel once headed the DIA? In the world of 90s archival history, he is a name that pops up in almost every major security and infrastructure decision of the decade. #MilitaryHistory #NigeriaArchives #GeneralIDGumel #NigerianHistory #IntelligenceCommunity #ThrowbackNigeria #HistoricalFacts
