👩💻✨ Warmest congratulations to UCD Professor Aphra Kerr, co-lead of AlgoWatch, which has won Best Media Initiative for Young People at the Media Literacy Ireland Awards!
AlgoWatch is a two-year engaged research project that helps young people aged 13–17 understand AI and algorithms through interactive games, quizzes, workshops and other creative resources, available in English, French, Portuguese and Croatian.
Professor Kerr, from the UCD School of Information and Communication Studies and Co-Principal Investigator at the ADAPT Research Centre, co-led the project with Savoir Devenir (Paris), the Association for Communication and Media Culture-DKMK (Zagreb), and Iscte University Institute of Lisbon.
Supported by Coimisiún na Meán, the MLI Awards recognise work that helps people develop media literacy skills to make the best use of media and encourage innovation, collaboration, and evaluation in media literacy projects.
