Context: Lua is an interpreted language intended for embedded applications that have limited ram and cpu available. As such, the only data structure provided by the Lua run time is "table" which can be used as an array, hash map, and other collections. (Source: Lua api7 tutorial)

kine还可以解决etcd运维成本过高的问题。API7 有一个项目 github.com/api7/etcd-adapter 旨在用关系型数据库替代 etcd，就用到了 kine。我之前想在 APISIX 3.0 基于它来实现去 etcd 的控制面，后来因为一些原因没能推下去。
kine 这个性能提升的确名副其实是 dramatic
