Cameron Young leads the
@Cadillac_Champ by SEVEN (!) shots with nine holes to play, eyeing his third PGA TOUR win in 14 starts.
And to think, he played his first 93 PGA TOUR starts without a victory …
Young was a frequent contender across his first four PGA TOUR seasons after earning his card via the 2020-21
@KornFerryTour, but he continually came up short before breaking through in resounding fashion at the 2025
@WyndhamChamp, finishing six strokes clear of the field in North Carolina.
Prior to his maiden victory, Young notched seven runner-up finishes on TOUR (including at The Open Championship in 2022), and he had finished inside the top 10 of all four majors. Statistically one of the game’s top players, he always had the ability to attack courses with a driver-wedge recipe and go low on various types of layouts.
All that was missing was a win, and after the floodgates opened at the Wyndham, he hasn’t stopped. Young added a statement victory at THE PLAYERS Championship earlier this year, bookended by top-three finishes at
@APInv and the Masters, and he has kept the pedal down at the Blue Monster.
Young has taken strides on the greens in the past year, and he currently ranks second at Doral in Strokes Gained: Putting. With a dynamic long game and an increasingly elite short game, the world No. 4 is showing no signs of slowing down.
And he's nine holes away from his third PGA TOUR title.
