I wanted to get my thoughts square and process this before I commented on it. I don't want this to be hyperbolic.
We in the 2A community have taken hit after hit since 1934. The NFA, The GCA, The Hughes Act, NICS, the 94 Assault Weapon ban, red flag laws, bumpstock ban, and the weaponization of the ATF under Biden that locked up people for drawings.
So I don't say any of this lightly.
I'm a longtime subscriber to
@MrColionNoir met him a few times at events and watch all of his videos. I have to say I'm really disappointed at his interview with Robert Cekada, the director of the ATF.
Mr. Cekada tried to come off as an everyman and tried very hard to whitewash the very evil and nefarious history of the ATF. Making no apologies and just kinda shrugging and saying well we couldn't do anything about it, it was the administration.
Colion didn't help either because every question was a softball. He had an opportunity that no other guntuber, 2A advocate I've ever seen have. The only question I felt wasn't soft was the pistol brace question. It was still mid and seemed like it was worked out in advance. I'm also sure there was probably a pre-approved script that came from DOJ.
Mr. Cekada honestly came across very likable. And honestly I wanted to like him. But his middling response to the pistol brace question and also very expertly trying to justify the ATF's existence "well if we don't do it somebody's going to do it so you're better off having us than them" was basically the answer.
Colion you could've asked him the hard questions. Questions like:
What does shall not be infringed mean to you?
Mr. Cekada do you know of the Marbury vs Madison ruling by SCOTUS?
How does Bruen factor in when writing new rules or evaluating former rules?
Are ATF rules law?
Does Chevron Deference being overturned change how you go about arbitrarily making up rules that impact the lives of innocent American citizens?
Do you understand truly why the gun community as a whole has zero faith or trust in the ATF?
Do you believe that Matt Hoover should have been in prison for a drawing?
What about what the ATF did to Tate Adamiak? Any plans on revisiting that and firing the ATF agents that rigged a prop and lied on the stand?
There's so many more pertinent questions that could have been asked that the gun community cares about. Those are just some off the top of my head and if I actually sat down to think about it I could probably come up with 30 more.
The ATFs existence Is a violation of the Second Amendment period. Yet once again we are being sold safety and security in lieu of freedom and liberty.
I do recommend everybody that hasn't seen it go and watch. See if you come away thinking the same thing I did.
"Shall not be infringed"
"Any law repugnant to the Constitution is void"
