The (CA) Supreme Court has been aware of this and more challenges for years (well over a decade; see, #ATILS); but, the previous Chief Justice (Tani Cantil) did not want to implement resources to solve this challenge. The current Chief Justice (Guerrero) is still doing nothing.
Cameras and recording devices threaten the judges. Appeals and due process are secondary considerations.

It is not that the @StateBarCA cannot makes sweeping changes administratively. It is that they do not consider accessibility a priority. #ATILS When changes benefit attorneys, the turn around time in less than 1 year. This is by-design for the Supremes.

I am enamored by the part that warns of increased violation of UPL that should be treated as felonies.
Congrats - the CA State Bar is now 'law enforcement' sans training, staffing, jurisdiction, agency, venue - pretty much everything that is required to be valid.

Have heard that 2 legislators in CA are working to undo the California "sandbox." The whole thing that ATILS worked so hard to bring to fruition to improve access to justice. I'd share the article, but it is behind a paywall. We'll need some organization soon. Stay tuned.

Just want to pull out this awesome gem from the ATILS team (via this AL article):

One might say that the very concept of a sandbox was flawed from the beginning. Sandbox = no agency, no venue, no jurisdiction, no scale, no scope, and a completely arbitrary standard. The [CA Supreme] Court is obviously not serious about their obligation to be accessible. #ATILS
