In the rebuild of Watchletic I can have different layouts depending on connected devices. So if I have my AR glasses (Engo/ActiveLook) and Stryd I see instant power but if I don't, and have to look at my wrist, I use a 3s rolling average. ENGO2 のテストウォーク。 iPhone上のActiveLookアプリとのペアリングはうまくいってて設定したパワーやケイデンスが表示されてデータも取れてた(値はGarminのネイティブパワーっぽい？)。 Garminアプリとの連携やGarmin 965だけで(スマホなしで)のペアリングがうまくいかず…サポートの返信待ち。

ENGO2とActiveLookアプリのペアリングは意外と簡単。とりあえずiPhoneを持って走るなら普通に使えそう。 サングラス内に投影されるリアルタイムの各種ランニングデータの画面切替はゼスチャアかタップ。 表示させる画面や項目の数はかなりカスタマイズできるけどパワーだけとか少ない方が良さそう。

I think smart glasses are the #1 form factor for wearable AI. Glasses augment what we see and hear while capturing POV data. I have tried dozens of them for all day use, and this has never been broken. Ray-Ban Meta Stories (latest) are ~49grams, and they are not all day wearable for most people. Of course, ergonomic design and weight balancing is crucial, more weight on ears and good, high spatial area coverage everywhere the glasses distributes weight on the head is crucial for comfort. For example, the Vuzix Shield is 140 grams, but I can rock it for 4 hours, and ran a 10K wearing them, because the ergonomics design is excellent. Birdbath vs waveguide optics is a good thing to understand. Waveguides: MicroLED light projector with diffractive or reflective waveguide lenses are seen in Vuzix Z100, Inmo Go, Meizu, MYVU, and other current state of the art all day HUD glasses. Waveguide material include plastic, glass, silicon carbide, and resin materials. Birdbath: seen in XREAL, Rokid, etc. with OLED or other bright and larger projector. These have incredible, bright, high FOV, but they cover the eyes while feeling painful after hours of wear from their nose heavy weight. The latest birdbath glasses can be worn for a few hours (less than 90grams) for some use cases. But what happens after 2040? We don't know but something like the singularity, ONeil Cylinder colonies, trillions of humans and AIs living in a higher dimensional metaverse, Centauri Alpha B causal chain ignition, Accelerando plot plays out.
