Immense pressure was put on Waheed who ultimately resigned, after the exposé of Epstein's emails.
When few journalists do their job, and when opposition is pathetic, activism on X is more impactful.

MDP govt's PGO, and Police had inadmissible evidence (AdeebFiles) that Adeeb was raping children (anything sexual involving a minor is considered rape).
MDP govt's Police could have treated the report as intelligence, and an independent investigation could have been opened. Lawful evidence could have been sought out. Prosecutions could have been made.
MDP govt's PGO sat on hundreds of corruption/child prostitution/sexual assault cases like this. We could have had hundreds of investigations, and prosecutions just based off the intelligence in this report.
