Today some people celebrate #LaborDay, a day to honor work and the people behind it, I’m especially proud to share something made with my own creativity and my own hands! ✍️ AI-generated images are everywhere, and I believe it’s important to highlight the real labor, thought, and soul that artists pour into their work. Behind every illustration like this one is a human or even a team — observing, imagining, and drawing each detail with love❤️ 🧠 This research explores how precisely engineered #3Dbiomaterials can influence neuronal growth, network formation, and cell differentiation. George Flamourakis, Angelo Accardo and colleagues from @tudelft created nano-environments with tunable mechanical properties and studied their impact on various neuronal cell types. I imagined #neurons navigating these nanostructures like they would a highway in a megacity🌃. They are weaving between skyscrapers, finding direction, and building connections. Huge thanks to all authors and to everyone working hard to build, explore, and imagine! SRM University-AP proudly announces another significant publication in the highly esteemed journal Advanced Functional Materials, a leading publication in the Nature Index. The paper, titled "Boosting Selective Nitrogen Oxidation to Nitric Acid by Synergizing Cobalt Phthalocyanine on Carbon Nitride Surface," highlights a significant breakthrough in the field of catalysis and environmental sustainability. Led by Prof. Ranjit Thapa, Professor & Dean – Research, and his PhD scholar, Mr. Narad Barman, the research introduces a novel electrocatalyst combining Cobalt Phthalocyanine (CoPc) nanotubes and Carbon Nitride (C3N4) nanosheets. This new catalyst achieves an exceptional yield rate of 871.8 µmol h−1 gcat−1 at 2.2 V and a Faradaic efficiency of 46.4% at 2.1 V, surpassing previous methods. The study addresses the energy-intensive nature of the Ostwald process, commonly used for commercial nitric acid production, which contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions. The newly developed CoPc/C3N4 electrocatalyst not only offers a more efficient solution but also paves the way for reducing global energy consumption and environmental impact. By simplifying the activation of chemically inactive nitrogen molecules and lowering the energy barriers for nitrogen oxidation, the research promises to revolutionize industrial practices, making them greener and more sustainable. #SRMUniversityAP #Innovation #ScienceNews #EnvironmentalSustainability #AdvancedFunctionalMaterials #ResearchImpact #SRMAP #ResearchAtSRMAP #SRMAPResearch
