Conventional testing systems typically evaluate cooling solutions under uniform heat loads, which rarely reflect real-world operating conditions. Addressing this challenge, the patented system introduces an advanced testing platform capable of generating controlled non-uniform heat loads and hotspots, closely replicating the thermal behaviour of modern electronic components. The innovation integrates independently controlled cartridge heaters, PID-based temperature regulation, microprocessor-driven automation, and real-time thermal monitoring to enable precise assessment of liquid cold plates under realistic conditions. By enabling comprehensive thermal characterisation and optimisation of cooling technologies, this invention has the potential to advance next-generation electronics, high-performance computing systems, power electronics, and industrial thermal management solutions. Conducted in collaboration with researchers from Marwadi University, India, the study addresses a critical challenge in geotechnical engineering—the accurate prediction of expansive soil behaviour. These soils swell when exposed to moisture and shrink upon drying, often causing severe damage to buildings, roads, and other infrastructure. Using an extensive database of geotechnical properties, the research evaluated Multiple Linear Regression (MLR), Ridge Regression, and the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) model to predict soil swelling potential. The findings revealed that LASSO achieved the highest predictive accuracy (R² = 0.935), outperforming conventional approaches through its ability to identify the most influential soil parameters while reducing the impact of irrelevant variables. Arun Kumar, Technical Officer, CRF-IS, who highlighted the importance of advanced material characterisation techniques and the state-of-the-art research infrastructure available at the University. The programme was formally inaugurated by Prof. Ranjit Thapa, Dean Research, who shared insights into the University's vibrant research ecosystem and its commitment to interdisciplinary excellence. An introductory lecture on BET surface area analysis and pore characterisation was delivered by Prof. Pardha Saradhi Maram, Department of Chemistry. The technical sessions were led by Dr Rishi Gupta, Head Application Specialist – BET (Physisorption & Chemisorption), Anton Paar India, who provided in-depth training on BET theory, adsorption science, instrument operation, data analysis, and practical applications. Dr Karthik Rajendran, Associate Professor, Dr Vigneswaran V S, Assistant Professor (Ad hoc), and Mr Rahul Ramesh, PhD Scholar, employed a comprehensive life cycle assessment to evaluate the environmental impact of replacing conventional fossil fuels with agricultural residues such as rice husk and torrefied rice husk, alongside the integration of carbon capture and storage technologies. Their findings reveal that these combined strategies can substantially reduce the carbon footprint of clinker production, bringing the cement sector closer to India's decarbonisation targets. Dr Prabhujit Mohapatra, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, along with B.Tech students Mr Rakesh Kumar Olipalli, Mr Sriram Naraharisetti, Mr Rohith Perumalla, Mr Jathin Vallabhapurapu, and Mr Prudhvi Naidu Thota, have published their research paper, “Q-Learning American Zebra Optimization Algorithm for Global Optimization”, in the International Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems (Impact Factor: 3.0, Q1). The study introduces the Q-Learning Assisted American Zebra Optimization Algorithm (QLAZOA), an innovative optimisation framework that enables virtual “zebras” to learn from experience and adapt their search strategies through reinforcement learning. By striking an effective balance between exploration and exploitation, the model identifies high-quality solutions to complex optimisation problems more efficiently. Tested on benchmark datasets and engineering design challenges, the framework demonstrates strong potential for applications in mechanical systems, energy optimisation, communication networks, smart grids, and large-scale industrial decision-making.
