I believe I am on my last minor feature before I'll be ready to launch #Arkfile to production: Adding support for hardware security keys (Yubikey, Nitrokey) as a Two Factor Authentication (2FA) method, in addition to TOTP. (Multi-node deployments and containerization can wait, I think.)

I have my own moral code and standards for myself and my family to live by. I do not wish to impose those on anyone else, however. Who am I to judge you? That is between you and your creator, or you and your community. That is why in the design of #Arkfile, I defer to the user. Who am I to demand the contents of your files, filenames, fingerprints and so on? I would much rather not know any of it. For a user, divulging file contents is a risk. For an admin, it is a liability. Eliminating the risks and liabilities is the goal of the whole project. The end result should be that you get private, secure and redundant storage of your files and data.

I am building Arkfile because it is a product I have wanted to exist for a long time. A fusion of S3 and Firefox Send (for anyone who remembers that!) and other private cloud storage services like ProtonDrive or MEGA. I will dogfood the prod version myself once launched.

You're probably using Reed-Solomon Erasure Coding. You just don't know it yet! Here is a random assortment of links and notes on the topic: gist.github.com/arkfile/14c7…

File storage & sharing with full encryption at rest & in transit. Server never sees passwords/unencrypted files/filenames/hashes. Stores them redundantly in object storage (S3), random padding added for further privacy. No account to DL shared files. Need beta testers! #Arkfile

Refactor complete. Swapped out MinIO for SeaweedFS. Added an encrypted blob export and local offline decrypt option too via the arkfile-client Go CLI util. github.com/arkfile/Arkfile Much of this would not be possible as a 1 man team w/o @PPQdotAI / @cline / @AnthropicAI Opus 4.6
Working on migrating fully to @SeaweedFS S3 API for local and self-hosted deployments of #Arkfile. Going to drop MinIO forever! #S3 #ObjectStorage #FOSS

Arkfile will support Auth47 for Login, as well as paying to a BIP 47 PayNym for storage credits.
BIP47 vs Silent Payments Both aim to fix address reuse in Bitcoin. Silent Payments are experimental. BIP47 is better today - more scalable, usable, and reproducible. Here’s why BIP47 still wins for practical privacy. 👇 🧵
