The week-long Training Program on Financial and Administrative Matters for Good Governance for the employees of Visva-Bharati commenced on 18 May 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The inaugural session was presided over by Dr. Probir Kumar Ghosh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Visva-Bharati, in the esteemed presence of Shri Dhaval Jain, Hon’ble District Magistrate of Birbhum, who attended as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished dignitaries present on the dais included Shri G. P. Sharma, Former Joint Secretary (Finance), ICAR, and Course Director; Prof. Amit Kumar Hazra, Director, SEI&RR, Visva-Bharati; and Dr. Bikash Mukhopadhyay, Registrar, Visva-Bharati. The programme began with an inaugural song, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the felicitation of the dignitaries. Dr. Nimai Chand Saha, Librarian of Visva-Bharati and Course Coordinator, delivered the welcome address. Subsequently, Shri G. P. Sharma outlined the objectives, methodology, structure, and key components of the training programme, presenting a comprehensive blueprint for the week-long event. Shri Dhaval Jain, Hon’ble District Magistrate of Birbhum, commended the university for helping in successful conduct of the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of West Bengal and inspired the participants through his encouraging address. The inaugural session ended with word of thanks from Dr. Bikash Mukhopadhyay, Registrar, Visva-Bharati. The inaugural session was compered by Dr. Atig Ghosh, In-Charge, Public Relations Office.
