youtube.com/shorts/E2YDn-yjU…’s a sound going around of a kid repeating “this video is one second long” about four times. It’s loud. It’s grating. It’s chaos in a loop. As an autistic adult? Yeah... my whole nervous system said no. But I endured. I reacted. I made a thing. This is that thing. 😅 --- 🏷️ Hashtags: #AutisticReaction #SensoryOverload #AutisticDiscomfort #NeurodivergentLife #AuditoryProcessing #ActuallyAutistic #AutismAndSound #AutisticYouTuber #NDHumor #OneSecondTooLong

The brains of professional musicians exhibit distinct characteristics compared to those of non-musicians. Notably, they tend to be more symmetrical and feature larger regions devoted to movement, auditory processing, and spatial awareness. Additionally, professional musicians possess an enhanced corpus callosum, facilitating more efficient communication between the brain's hemispheres. These neurological adaptations are likely the result of extensive musical training, which demands synchronized coordination across both hemispheres of the brain. Moreover, learning to play a new instrument may contribute to slowing brain aging in individuals who are not professional musicians. #Neuroscience #MusicAndTheBrain #CognitiveDevelopment #BrainSymmetry #MusicalTraining #Neuroplasticity #SlowBrainAging #InstrumentLearning #ProfessionalMusicians #AuditoryProcessing
Fascinating Fact: Professional musicians’ brains look different from non-musicians’. For starters, their brains tend to be more symmetrical and have larger areas dedicated to movement, hearing, and spatial awareness. They also have a beefed-up corpus callosum, which helps the two sides communicate more efficiently. These changes probably come from years of musical training, which pushes the brain to coordinate and sync up across both hemispheres. Learning new instrument may also help slow brain aging in non-professional musicians. #CognitiveHealth #MusicTraining

I’m crying.. I’m sorry to my community, but I might be taking a week off of streaming. This is extremely hard for me and I’ll try to explain it.. I seriously hate having auditory processing. It’s a living hell sometimes. I’m so happy to have my health insurance back. Being sick and not having my health insurance was extremely mentally and physically draining. Finally get my health insurance back and my auditory processing doctor. Doctor was happy and we made an appointment for my hearing aids. They said I need to call my home doctor. To get an approval for new hearing aids. I called my home doctor. I explained that I need a doctors note for my new hearing aids. Lady on the phone was confused of what I was asking and very upset. She started asking questions and luckily, I have everything written down and there was some things she was asking that I didn’t have written down. I tried to kiss their ass, so people could be nicer to me on the phone. I feel bad they have to hear my explain. But please understand that not everyone is built like you. Please do not join the medical field too if you have no patience. Ever since I got sick and all these doctors, I’ve been disrespected by every single person on the phone. Saying “I have no idea what you’re saying.” I tried to explain things the best way I could and I told them I have auditory processing. They don’t know what that is so then I have to explain it to them the best I can, but how can I explain it to them when I can’t even explain it myself!! When I do explain it, I can’t shorten it, sweetin it. I’ve train for this for ten years. Hasn’t gotten been. Please stop hiring people yelling at me instead!! We already deal with a lot in life. I shouldn’t have to cry and feel stupid after getting off the phone. It makes me feel really weak when I can’t take care of myself. All I want to do is feel normal. Call a doctor and do what I gotta do. I can’t even do that. Yeah, maybe I’m rambling but I’m explaining it in five different ways but I deserve to be treated just like everyone else. This isn’t just once in a while. This is like all the time. I’m sick. I don’t feel good. I’m irritable from feeling sick. For so long. I just really want to feel normal and I’m sorry I’m having a weak moment. 😢 Yesterday was weird explaining my inbox in a post…Now it’s really hard for being this strong for this long. I need a break. I’ll be in my Discord but I’m sorry y’all. I’m very tired and I’m very irritable and my body is absolutely killing me and I am still doing what I’m supposed to be doing. I just can’t smile right now. #apd #Auditoryprocessing

I can't stream scary games because of my auditory processing disorder, makes me react so much slower than anyone else.😂 My coworkers would scare me all the time because of my reaction, I was always late. I would twitch first and then scream. 😂 Now looking back at my clips. I completely understand why they did it. 😂 #APD #Auditoryprocessing #auditoryprocessingdisorder #APDstreamer

Schedule will be change. Really lost in pieces right now. I need a reality check. Hurting a lot right now. 😢 Really tough to type with tears. Having a hard time accepting, I can’t work full time like others. That my brain is different and that I process to much information to the point where it overwhelms me. Learning more and more about my APD. I push myself too much.. I tried doing full time streaming. Mentally cannot do full time anymore. Had long night talking about it and getting help. I love streaming. I enjoy it. But having auditory processing is impossible to focus on something for 7, 8 or 9 hours. I need to accept that I need downtime. In a quiet room. I will still stream. But sadly I can’t be streaming for 7 hours a day. Going back to fresh vods to old vods. I see that I look so tired. Focusing on myself is the best thing I can do. #auditoryprocessing #apd #autism

Funny but true…..!!! ***Write instructions on the whiteboard*** Give ONE instruction at a time. Repeat instruction after 8-10 seconds. Check understanding and support where needed. Saves time in the long run and builds confidence and engagement of learners. #neurodivergent #auditoryprocessing #workingmemory #ADHD #DLD #ALN instagram.com/reel/C9XmyRMu8…

One thing that is so hard with APD is calling on the phone. I can not understand a single word when I’m calling companies. I know this is a long shot. Not a lot people in the world have auditory processing disorder. But I’m gonna go for it and ask this anyway. Does anyone know new fun facts/updates to understand or techniques on phone calls. I know doctors say with APD you have to have someone on the phone with you, to communicate with people. How do you do it on your own? I know to ask them to speak slowly, no big words, wait for me to process the question. To be in a quiet room. Have all your information written down so you’re prepared for the phone call. The only reason why I’m asking any new techniques out there is because I feel bad that people have to deal with me on the phone, asking a lot of questions and me not understanding. I noticed when they have to explain to me over and over in different ways they get frustrated. I’m not trying to make them frustrated. I feel extremely bad especially when they get rude people on the phone all day and then they have to deal with me so this is why I’m super duper nice to them. I try to be super polite, since they have to deal with me, not understanding what’s going on or what they are asking. Please help! 🥹👉🏻👈🏻 #apd #Auditoryprocessingdisorder #Auditoryprocessing #Autism #ADHD #Dyslexic

When people ask me “how is the new house going? Did you unpack everything yet?” When you have auditory processing with ADHD… Oh it’s fun… 😭 So far not bad. It’s hard to adjust when you have autism. I can’t help it when I rewind, I daydream.. For alittle to long.. 😂 #APD #Auditoryprocessing #dyslexic #ADHD #autism
