The specifics: - Biocore put forward an approach to nutrient mitigation, offsetting pollution impacts from development - Natural England is reported to have engaged with the proposal over many months and indicated support - NE then changed its position and raised fresh objections - The applicant was left asking whether the goalposts had moved 🚜 This matters well beyond one case. Across the uplands, Natural England shapes what land use, mitigation and environmental delivery count as acceptable. That influence only works if the rules are clear, consistent and applied the same way to its own schemes. Fair regulation is not a side issue. It is the foundation of trust. I’m incredibly honored to be selected for @decentraland’s Turn It Up Open Call. ⚡️ I’ll be building First Light, a social music-and-light experience set in the world of EPOCHS. The story follows young Aurel Vey, around 500 years after the Decentraland community unlocked Biocore during ArtWeek 2025, by which time it had become a cultural museum. As a child, Aurel visited it and experienced his first vision there... a moment that filled him with wonder, but also led others to see him as a little nutty and dismiss him. First Light is the moment that changes that. Players will step onto glowing glyph pads, emote, and build the scene together in phases. Each activation adds new musical layers, intensifies the lighting, transforms the square, and shifts the town’s reaction from doubt… to curiosity… to awe. By the final crescendo, the villagers finally understand that Aurel’s vision was real. This event will also play a role in my new game, EPOCHS: The Arkavian Tower (-93,72), officially releasing in Summer 2026. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity and excited to bring this story to life in Decentraland.
