“I’m no longer ashamed in front of anyone.” He used to be a deputy mayor. An office. Politics. City council sessions. Business suits. But he traded all of it for trenches, body armor, a rifle, and the defense of his country. So the next time someone tells you that officials do not fight, remember the story of Yurii Botnar — former deputy mayor of Cherkasy, lawyer, politician, a man from big politics. But on February 24, 2022, he simply went to the enlistment office, even though he could have stayed safely in the rear. He joined the 95th Air Assault Brigade. At first — a driver. Then a sergeant. Squad commander. Deputy company commander. Later he transferred to the 14th Regiment of Unmanned Aerial Systems. He fought near Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and Mezhova. Then he spent 199 days on the “zero line.” Almost seven months holding position. Without rotation. Without normal living conditions. Under constant shelling. In mud. Using wet wipes instead of a shower. “The first 30 days are manageable. Then the psychological decline begins. Somewhere after day 90, I physically understood what stoicism really means,” Botnar later recalled. And do you know what is most powerful about his story? He is not a career soldier. Not someone who dreamed about war his whole life. Before all this, he lived a completely different life. Few people know that back in 2020, law enforcement staged his “kidnapping” and “death” to prevent a real assassination attempt connected to his political and anti-corruption work. So he already knew what risk looked like. But the war still changed him completely. Botnar began speaking openly and brutally honestly about how society catastrophically undervalues infantry soldiers. “Infantrymen are the wall between our comfortable lives and the horrors of war,” he says. He believes every officer should go through infantry service. Not headquarters. Not an office. But the zero line itself. Because only there do you truly begin to understand the value of life. And the value of your country.

Had a wonderful meeting with Prime Minister KristrĂșn FrostadĂłttir of Iceland. India deeply values the friendship with Iceland. We talked about ways to improve ties in areas such as clean energy, fisheries, sustainability, geothermal energy, carbon capture and storage and more. Iceland’s prowess in sectors relating to the Blue Economy is admirable. We are hopeful that the historic India-EFTA TEPA will give an impetus to trade and investment linkages as well.

1.3 billion adolescents make up one-sixth of the world's population. Yet they remain chronically underprioritised in national budgets and global financing flows, and the consequences are stark. Nearly one million adolescents die annually from mostly preventable causes. Mental health conditions account for 16% of the global burden of disease in people aged 10 to 19. Nearly one in five girls in low and middle income countries gives birth before reaching adulthood, many in the context of child marriage or sexual violence. On the sidelines of the #WHA79 in Geneva, the Global Leaders Network joined #PMNCH, the Government of Sweden, WHO-HRP, Fondation Botnar, World Vision International, UNICEF, SheDecides, and MSI to explore evidence-based solutions to change that. #AdolescentHealth #WCAH #SRHRights #GlobalHealth

Kto „obserwuje” wybory na Węgrzech jutro? Elena Calistru, szefowa Funky Citizens, wƂaƛnie otrzymaƂa akredytację jako międzynarodowa obserwatorka w Budapeszcie, jedyna rumuƄska NGO z takim statusem. To ta sama organizacja, ktĂłrą Komitet Sądowniczy Izby ReprezentantĂłw USA wƂaƛnie wskazaƂ jako kluczowych graczy w unijnej maszynie globalnej cenzury. Raport stwierdza, ĆŒe kƂamaƂa na temat „rosyjskich botĂłw”, aby pomĂłc w storpedowaniu kampanii Călina Georgescu. Zorganizowali protesty przeciwko Georgescu i naciskali na uniewaĆŒnienie wyborĂłw prezydenckich w Rumunii. Prowadzili agresywną cenzurę podczas pandemii i nadal to robią jako pƂatni weryfikatorzy faktĂłw Meta. Tymczasem zgarnęli €1 159 300 tylko w zeszƂym roku META → €161 tys. TechSoup Google → €131 tys. Ambasada USA, Fundacja Botnar i fundusze UE Aktywnie kampaniują przeciwko Trumpowi, Vance’owi, OrbĂĄnowi i Muskowi, udając, ĆŒe bronią „demokracji”, i dostając na to pieniądze z USA. To mistrzowie ingerencji w wybory. Zagranicznie finansowani aktywiƛci, ktĂłrzy cenzurują konserwatywne gƂosy, a potem przylatują do Budapesztu jako „neutralni obserwatorzy”.
Who’s “observing” Hungary ’s elections tomorrow? Elena Calistru, head of Funky Citizens, just got accredited as an international observer in Budapest, the only Romanian NGO with that status. This is the same NGO that the US House Judiciary Committee just called out as key players in the EU global censorship machine. The report states that they lied about the “Russian bots” to help torpedo Calin Georgescu’s campaign. They organized protests against Georgescu and pushed for the annulment of Romania’s presidential elections. They ran aggressive censorship during the pandemic and still do that today as paid Meta fact-checkers. Meanwhile, they cashed in €1,159,300 just last year META → €161k TechSoup Google → €131k US Embassy, Botnar Foundation and EU funds They actively campaign against Trump, Vance, Orban and Musk while pretending to defend “democracy” and getting cash from the US. These are the champions of election interference. Foreign-funded activists who censor conservative voices and then fly in Budapest as “neutral observers.”
