I agree, I also think you should have to pass a lot of background checks to adopt a dog at all. Or any animal.

No I have never gotten a dog from a breeder. it’s unfortunate that trendy animals feed into puppy mills and bad breeders and take away from the reputable breeders and dogs from shelters, as I said, the laws should be tightened

More reputable breeders usually breed service dogs and I meant in general for pets that they should try to help with overpopulation more than contributing to it and creating fads that can leave animals on the streets after Christmas morning.

So my friend who needed a service animal shouldve just adopted instead of getting her dog from a breeder who specializes in dogs better equipped for service ?

rescues I’ve looked at don’t have many dogs that can live in a flat and can be left alone (at least rescues in the UK), also some might need a hypoallergenic dog which is harder to come by, rescuing should be the priority but it’s not _always_ an option depending on the situation

Man you have to just keep grasping at straws to try to prop up your tired argument.
Viruses inject their genes into human cells in order to replicate. Therefore they have their own unique human DNA. Are they living human beings? Are we murdering them when we cure diseases?
