They said if the government invests in helping the poor and middleclass, it is socialism. But they don't mind siphoning government money into their cavernous, insatiable pockets.
They get rich off of government contracts, government subsidies, tax cuts, tax-free zones, and bailouts. When the going is good, they're staunch capitalists and deserve every dollar they hoard because they're supposedly smarter and more hardworking than everyone else. But when the going is bad, then their failures become a societal problem. An "us" problem. You no longer hear of the invisible hand of the market, or informed self interests, or some other platitude. Now, they remember that we're one society and, a collective, and we need each other.
They sponge from the public purse while telling you it's a bad thing for the government to do the minimum by spending the people's own people to help the people.
And through the media and the sponsorship of academic institutions, churches, and other non profits, they guarantee that they'll have a constant supply of spokespeople who will consistently push their agenda and get the people to support policies that keep them exploited and poor.
If a person won't drink from a cup, yet they insist that you should copiously drink form it, please pause and ask yourself "why?"
If a person drinks greedily from a cup, while insisting that the drink is detrimental to your health so you mustn't drink it, and you can see that they are healthy and flourishing while you remain emaciated, you should also pause and ask yourself "why?"
To care for one another isn't socialism. It's called being human. And if we can't be human, what are we? They've robbed you of money and many freedoms. Don't let them rob you of your humanity.
True freedom is to care about our fellow man, because one life devalued devalues all.
You can't destroy a human without in some way, destroying yourself. We live or die by these truths.
May we live.
