6 button #Commodore64 #joystick up and running! This one is a promo for @RetroGamerNatn with a super flexible layout. The top row is Fire, Up and Space Bar. The Bottom row is Fire 1, 2 & 3. Fire one is duplicated for a bit more flexibility and comfort when using either row or both. There are a number of patched games plus the #C64GS versions of games that use 2 and 3 buttons. See here - wiki.icomp.de/wiki/DE-9_Joys… The patched #Turrican can use 5 buttons for Fire, Jump (Up), Blast (3), Grenades (2) and the blade transform (down Space). This new range of sticks will be available in 2,3 and 6 button variants. Available to order next week with some cheaper models too. I'll keep adding to this post with more videos of the patched games. TBC... @C64Reposts

Here's an oddity. A 1991 Ocean ad peddling C64 cart games. They made these for the steaming pile o' cack failure that was the C64GS console. Double the price of the cassette version for "instant loading and improved graphics?" Nah. I'll wait for the inevitable discount please.

One of the rarest Commodore 64 releases: RoboCop 3 was exclusively on cartridge (£14.99), designed for instant-load play and compatibility with the failed C64GS console. In saying that it also plugged into a standard C64. The Commodore 64 version of RoboCop 3 was created by Probe Software (programmer Neil Coxhead, graphics by Hugh Riley, music by Jeroen Tel, produced by Neil Young) and released by Ocean in 1992, a year before the 1993 film it ties into! Zzap!64 magazine rated it 92% "RoboCop 3 is action all the way, and should keep even the most expert gameplayers protecting the innocent for ages - just make sure that you've got a large enough supply of baby food!" What did you think of the third Robocop game?

Yes. Here is my Commodore 8-bit collection. I’m still looking for a #2 C64GS to add to my collection.

A las 21:30, analizaremos dos curiosos intentos de Commodore por llegar a nuevos mercados: La MAX Machine, ese C64 capado pensado para Japón y el infame C64GS, la consola C64 de los 90!!! Ya sabéis donde... Twitch: RaulThePunisher YouTube: ElBlogDeThePunisher

I mean, I don't think it's entirely accurate to say the GX4000 was just a CPC. Same chipset architecture yes but it had several unqiue hardware enhancements not found on standard CPC's, which helped it punch above its weight. The C64GS on the other hand....

Sounds like desperation to me like the C64GS. Still it's interesting to know these are out there, and what might have been.

It’s excellent mate. Not just saying it. What blows my mind is how cheap they are. I paid maybe £90 I forget. The C64GS. Basically the same thing. £600!

Yes, I don't have a #2 C64GS yet and #4 is the PET 2001 whereas mine is the PET 2001-N. I have the rest here in my Commodore 8-bit computer display.

A new toy arrived today, an Amstrad GX4000. It's always baffled me that the C64GS is now rare and expensive to collect, while the GX4000 is relatively common and inexpensive to purchase. I'll have to see what mods I can do to it at the weekend :) #amstrad

Imagine how many people would've given a chance to something like the CD32 if AGA was already in use in 1989 and the machine itself came out in 1990? It would've been a better idea than the Amiga CDTV, the C65 or the C64GS. By 1987, they should've focused entirely on the Amiga.

My drunken purchase has arrived...and it works! Probably will sell it on but it's nice to have a play. I might even make a video of it in action! Commodore 64 GS #C64GS #commodore64

In 1990, Commodore tried to repackage the legendary C64 as a games console. It was a spectacular flop. Arriving late against 16-bit rivals and costing the same as a full C64 computer, it was a true gaming history what-if. #RetroGaming #C64GS #Commodore #GamingFail #8bitart

The Joystick input driver for C64 OS just gained support for the C64GS-style second fire button as a right click. Handedness settings invert Fire1 and Fire2 as left/right clicks. #C64 Will be available in the next system update.
