Great article! You may find the #CCSLadder 🪜 we recently published with fellow NGO @E3G worthwhile on the prioritisation and focus on industrial 🏭 decarbonisation you suggest:

1/ Excited to finally share the #CCSLadder– by @E3G @Bellona_DE, w/ @GeorgKobiela & others! Drawing on colleagues' long-standing thinking, it aims to inform how public policy can prioritise ‘high climate-value’ #CCS applications 🧵 bellona.org/publication/carb… #CCS4NetZeroIndustry

🪜 The #CCSLadder was launched last week, unpacking the nuanced understanding of the Carbon Capture and Storage applications in Europe. The tool assesses the climate value of #CCS apps for 2030 & 2050. Read our briefing and methodology here 👇 e3g.org/publications/carbon-…

If you grew up with the waste hierarchy, liked the Hydrogen ladder, you are gonna love this #CCSladder

6/ A policy framework based on a robust set of guiding principles & safeguards is required (e3g.org/publications/making-…) This framework should prioritise ‘high-value’ #CCS applications. In this context, a #CCSladder may be useful to target and accelerate policy and action.

💡I'm sure many of you have heard of the H2 ladder; my colleagues have just developed a much-needed comprehensive rating of priority CCS applications! #CCSladder

There we go, our #CCSLadder is out and will hopefully help to bring nuance to the debate. Even though I'm not part of either E3G or Bellona, I'm proud to have coauthored this.
The #HydrogenLadder is metastasizing! Check out this #CCSLadder by @e3g and @Bellona_DE!

It's finally out! After a lot of loops and input from plenty of smart and climate ambitious people, here it is: our multi criteria #CCSLadder. Domien already described it that neatly, so check his thread and the link!

Huge congrats for this @DVangenechten1 & @e3g !!! Our minds like SIMPLE things, which is contradictory with complex processes like worldwide energy & climate transition. I hope this 'visual ladder' will help steer positive debate / thinking. cc @MLiebreich #ClimateActionNow

Onto the #CCSladder itself We propose a methodological framework to assess applications across four criteria: 1) competition from alternative technologies; 2) mitigation potential; 3) feasibility; 4) CO2 source. We did this for 24 applications for both 2030 and 2050 7/11

Not all #CCS is the same! @e3g & @Bellona_De have built a #CCSLadder 🪜 assessing the climate value of different applications. It shows: 📉 Low & decreasing value in power sector ⚙️ Highest value in #industry sectors w/ considerable process emissions 👇 e3g.org/publications/carbon-…
