The #Pelvex2025 meeting in Sydney was truly a step forward compared to previous years. This year’s four-day program brought together clinicians and researchers from around the world for an intensive update on surgical advancements and innovations in pelvic exenteration — highlighting the latest techniques and research shaping the future of this complex field. Two dedicated pre-conference courses, including the Robotic Pelvic Exenteration Skills Masterclass and a Live Surgery Course, marked a new level of depth and excellence. I was also honored to serve as a jury member in the Brunschwig Prize: Abstract Presentation session — a great platform showcasing innovative and inspiring research. My sincere thanks to the organizing committee and especially to @CherryKoh and @PeterLee for the superb local organization. After the congress, I had the privilege to spend a week at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Colorectal Surgery Department, observing complex pelvic exenteration and CRS-HIPEC cases with Prof. Michael Solomon, A/Prof. Cherry Koh, and their outstanding team — who have now treated over 1,200 PelvEx patients through this remarkable program. It was also a pleasure catching up with Turkish surgeons now based in Australia — Dr. Cihad Tatar and Dr. İbrahim Ethem Cakcak — and meeting new international colleagues. We also discussed potential collaborative projects with the CSSANZ society. Professionally inspiring — and personally refreshing!
