Fair question. Here’s how I thought about it. I manage a portfolio of apps. Even after the deals, I still run 14 of them. Apps are my core asset, and whenever I don’t pay enough attention to one, its revenue slowly drops. The first step was to remove projects that no longer fit my long-term vision. That’s why Tovoice and NumaDaily went first. Next, I reviewed my update history and spotted apps that hadn’t received much love over the past year. This is how StitchKit and TextBlur ended up on the list. Since they belong to the same niche, selling them together made sense. The final one was CaptionKit. It had strong fundamentals and healthy unit economics, but its tech stack didn’t align with my other video apps. As a result, it wasn’t evolving at the pace it deserved. That made the decision clear. By selling these apps, I reduced complexity, reclaimed my focus, and finished the year by launching two new products.

The main question is: why did I sell them? Apps are my main asset. If I don’t give them enough attention, their revenue starts to decline. So first, I selected the projects that were not part of my long-term plans. Those were Tovoice and NumaDaily. After selling them, I looked at which apps I had updated the least over the past year. That’s how the next candidates appeared: StitchKit and TextBlur. I decided to sell them together since they operate in the same niche. The last app was CaptionKit. It was a high-quality product with good unit economics, but technologically it was different from my other video apps. Because of that, it wasn’t getting regular updates. I realized it was the perfect moment to sell. In the end, I simplified my portfolio, freed up my time, and was able to complete my challenge by shipping 2 new apps at the end of the year.
In 2025, I sold 5 apps and made $44.5k Tovoice – $2.5k NumaDaily – $2k Stitchkit TextBlur – $6k CaptionKit – $34k Small exits. Real money.

So, I’ve sold another app 🚀 This time it’s CaptionKit. The deal closed at $34,000 with a 17× valuation For the buyer, it’s a solid asset with a clear niche and steady demand. For me, it’s a fast exit that lets me head into the new year with a stronger financial position.э

I calculated how many clicks from my website went to my apps – it came out to 662 redirects in a month. Here’s the breakdown by apps: Screencut 153 Toloop 49 NumaDaily 47 InvoicePal 44 Collagekit 41 Captionkit 41 Tovoice 38 MonPrice 38 Tomath 37 PDFBoost 37 TextBlur 28 Gifmo 26 Hitext 25 BabyFrame 23 Stitchkit 22 Toback 13
One of my potential clients reached out: Viktor, there’s a bug in your type.link integration with Google Analytics. If you fix it – we’ll become your client. Your service is really convenient I fixed the bug almost right away, but totally forgot to mention it 🙂 I tested the integration on my personal site. Over 3,000 people visit it every month – not bad! Here’s what my audience geography looks like:

10 apps in 2024 - one already shut down. New account, new apps, new rules. The first 6 months were a complete failure. Just $119 in sales. Then I started testing ideas. Working non-stop, 24/7. Timeline: • Nov 2023 – opened a new account • Apr 2024 – launched Screencut • May 2024 – removed first app Atuner from sale • Jun 2024 – launched Textblur and Gifmo • Jul 2024 – launched Stitchkit • Aug 2024 – launched Toloop and Toback • Sep 2024 – launched Captionkit and hit first $1,000/month • Nov 2024 – launched Hitext and reached $5,000/month • Feb 2025 – hit $10,000/month • Mar 2025 – launched MonPrice and passed $15,000/month • Apr 2025 – acquired InvoicePal and hit $20,000/month Every important step is shared in this blog. You’re watching the business grow in real time. Now I’m doing a challenge: 10 apps by the end of 2025. Let’s see how far I can go.
This morning I checked my MRR - and it made me a little happier. My app portfolio is now generating $20,020 MRR. 66.73% of the way there! The goal of $30,000 MRR is getting closer.

I can't wait to share some updates on CaptionKit! You can compare two videos: before and after. In the first version of the app, when generating subtitles, we didn’t pay much attention to pauses, which led to breaks. For example, the start of a new sentence could end up at the end of the current one (take a look at the words I’M and STAY). In the new version, we implemented a more advanced system based on splitting and further analysis. As a result, we’ve eliminated ‘orphaned words’ and improved synchronization. We're submitting it for review today!

I've never done anything like this before, and I'm not even sure I'll do it again. But in the end, I created the onboarding for CaptionKit with a voice actor. Since my options for actors were limited, I had to take on the role myself😅 My wife was the director. Big thanks to her :) What do you think of the onboarding? Is it okay?

I’m live right now on Product Hunt! 🚀 LAUNCH DAY 🚀 85% of people watch videos without sound, and simply adding captions can boost your social media reach. That’s why I created CaptionKit - a powerful AI-driven app for generating captions automatically. 👉 producthunt.com/posts/captio… I started working on CaptionKit back in 2020. Every year, I lacked the resources, time, and knowledge to finish it, but this year, I finally pulled through and achieved my goal. It’s an amazing video editor! Please download it and leave your feedback - it means a lot to me. A special thanks to the #buildinpublic community for your support! I’ve spent the last 20 hours straight fixing critical bugs before the launch. I’m nervous, but your support means the world to me. Thank you so much!
