The problem that so many don't seem to get... is that the IRL physics of carding isn't the same as digital. Its not copied to a server, it cant be duplicated IRL just by handing it to a cop or cashier. But digitally its data that you cant prove is gone once you send it. And it links to an account and your identity such that in every case, it is your online access. That the digital ID that people apposing speak of. You can card someone IRL with some privacy since you know it will be only used that one time and can't be expanded further. Its impossible to guarantee online. Oh and since you can't know if someones a kid faceless, its forced on everyone. You can tell easily if a kid walks into a ABC store... and asks for a beer/etc.

YES. This is honestly one of the most sane posts ive seen. Create kids spaces like Disney and Nickelodeon used to, and don't shove KYC on everyone. The internet is adult 1st, and you really need to just bottom-up herd all young people to those safer areas. Carding people digitally does not work the same as a bar or club, and those who do not understand the internet the same as natives, because they were born before it, can definitely see it as another physical thing to "regulate", without understanding a large set of dominoes, that will create. Yes, I can agree on internet safety, everyone wants the internet their own way, and kids should have their own place like they did in the early 2000's. I cannot agree that the solution is to destroy privacy on the internet, and KYC everyone like a bank app, which then collects even more data to be hacked and turns the web into a massive linkedin. Everyone freaking out does so because the go to solution is effectively carding, which does not have the same realities digitally as in real life. And people have not had this click, or they actually are ok with the trade off of less internet freedom for everyone.
