K J Somaiya Institute of Management congratulates Santosh Ambasta (MBA, 2023-25) for securing the 2nd Runner-Up position at COP (Conference of Parties) - The Climate Quest, hosted by XLRI Jamshedpur (@XLRIJamshedpur). The competition centred around the role of HR in driving environmental consciousness in an organisation. It delved into strategies such as AI-powered compliance tracking, sustainability-aligned workforce and ESG-driven change management. Santosh helped create practical and innovative solutions through his research in analysing COP 21 (Paris Climate Agreement), Copenhagen Summit and UNFCCC agreements and annual reports of UNDP. He also reviewed publications from the World Economic Forum, Professor Klaus Schwab’s writings and several People First HR reports. He rationalised carbon taxation mechanisms as well. Overall, the competition enabled Santosh to draw a link between HR and the environment, backed by thorough research and analysis. IIM Nagpur successfully hosted the IIM Nagpur Ivey Case Conference 2024, themed ‘Shaping the Future: Business Management Trends & Insights for Tomorrow.’ The two-day conference, conducted in hybrid mode on December 21-22, 2024, brought together participants from across the globe, fostering vibrant discussions on emerging management trends. The pre-conference Case Writing Workshop on December 20, 2024 featured sessions on practical strategies for case writing, the art of crafting teaching notes, and insights into publishing with Ivey. The conference received an overwhelming 452 submissions, of which 361 were selected for presentation. The conference showcased exceptional diversity, attracting exceptional researchers and participants from 16 countries across five continents, including the United States, UK, Russia, South Africa, Australia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Finland, Brazil, Japan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE, Iraq, Singapore, and Germany. Esteemed researchers from renowned global institutions such as Griffith University, NUS Singapore, UTAS-Ibri, and the University of Eastern Finland, along with premier Indian institutions like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIT Kanpur, NIT Jamshedpur, and XLRI Jamshedpur, contributed to the intellectual rigor of the event. Selected cases will be forwarded for consideration to prestigious outlets such as Ivey Publishing, Emerging Markets Case Studies (Scopus), Business Perspective and Research (Scopus & ABDC), Vision: The Journal of Business Perspective (Scopus & ABDC), conference proceedings (edited book), and the South Asian Journal of Business and Management Cases (Scopus).
