Teaching the kettlebell clean using Brett Jones’ secret “Five-Step Progression,” which will allow the student to master the kettlebell clean properly in no time, smoothly and without any struggles.
(This is Step One: kettlebell cheat clean.
@BeStrongFirst Certified Instructors, you know the remaining four. Don’t give away the secret.)
The kettlebell cheat clean is one of the drills that I call “the bridges” between S&S (“Simple and Sinister” – swing & get-up) and the follow-up program ROP (“Rite of Passage” – clean, press, snatch):
– The bridge between the get-up and the press = press in each phase of the get-up (from floor press to side press to military press).
– The bridge between the swing and the clean = cheat clean.
– The bridge between the swing and the snatch = snatch pull.
Keep doing your S&S until you meet at least the Simple Standard. In your variety drills, do some lighter get-ups with presses, kettlebell cheat cleans, and snatch pulls, and after you meet the Simple goal, you will learn the clean, press, and snatch in no time—and you can jump on ROP.
